Locked up the rear wheels when I was driving it as it shifted. Locked up wheels yesterday on the lift with low speed shift also. Looked at cables on tranny and one is locked in position with a both thru a hole on cable adjuster (no movement possible there). Other cable is tight and does not...
Yes out of the blue. I put it on my two post lift yesterday and ran at low rpm and when it shifted to 2nd and also when it shifted to 3rd it locked up for a second and then released. Tires came to complete stop and leaf springs tried to wind up. Once in third never locked up again. Car has wild...
When transmission shifts from 1th to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd it locks up the rear tires for a second or so and then frees up. Tires stop, it’s a posi, springs buckle
Then car continues to drive. Till it shifts to 3rd and does it again. Afraid to keep going. Ideas?
A quick look on the internet at kits for this states that some come with a pushrod for the master cylinder.
Are you also putting a proportioning valve in the system? I think you should.
Quick question....replaced the slide type calipers on my 65 Coronet..where do the rubber looking bands go?
I think they go with the clip that holds on the caliper but where not on my old setup. The came with the replacement calipers...they look like a large rubber band.
Thank everyone for their help with this. I hooked the run wire up to a switch on the dash not used power from the starter relay. The start wire is also hooked up to the red MSD wire. Now all I do is turn on that switch on and start the car.
Works great, THANKS!!!! Shutting off the car is as easy...
When we hook the Dark Blue and Brown off the ignition it turn them both hot and cranks over the engine.
I was told they both need to be hood to the red MSD wire.
Help
Glad to see you got bulb installed. I have a question for you.
Bought a used console for my 65 Coronet and the latch plate that holds the lid closed is missing. Any idea of what it looks like?
A picture would be great and then maybe I can just make one.
Thanks
Jim
I had a similar problem as a friend took mine apart and I had a horrible time putting back together. There are a number of clips that have two flat feet that are bent at 90 degrees (each foot 1/2" wide with a screw hole that attaches it to roof)then it steps up 1/2" and the top part is 1" wide...
I found the cables at Imperial Services....45" shift cable $229.00 part # B425
The park cable is part # B 429 and $209.00. Dealer is engine-swap.com 206-364-7151.
I'm still looking for used ones to use with my console.
