if i can find some 15x8 and 15x7 oem looking steel wheels would any one if the hub caps from small 14 inch hubcaps fit? i have a feeling the price will be about the same as the magnum 500's after i get them painted body color.
well after owning my 1969 GTX for about 6 months and driving it on 22 year old BFG's, i thought i better get new rubber do to age and flat spots. So last December i started looking for new tires. I found BFG and cooper no longer make the T/A or Cobra's in 16's. so i did what the rest of you do...
Here is a picture of the tag, sorry to say it the worst part of the car. It's from a 1969 GTX.if you don't see the number your looking for let me know and I'll try again.
For me it all depends on the car and the price. When I bought my 69 gtx last year from an estate, I knew it had a rotisserie done in 1988. The late owner had told me it was matching numbers 440 4 speed and he had always wanted it to stay as original as possible. Do to his heath issues it had not...
i dont know if the car still exists but i am looking for an owner of 1967 GTX serial number RS23L77116225. i have the original invoice, window sticker, and other documents from the car.
if you contact me and send me a picture of the VIN tag i will send you everything for free.
no i dont have a different yoke. the only one the late owner had laying around was still attached to a drive shaft that looked like it had been dug up from a salt pit. so we recycled it.
well i jacked up the car and installed a dial indicator and there is a .109 movement up and down turned the drive shaft to different locations and checked again all about the same +/-.005. like i said there is a chunk moving it. I didnt pull the drive shaft to check the bushing because i have...
checked the ujoints and the yoke depth. u joints look new and no slop , yoke depth is very similar to the picture.
since this is my first 833. how much of a gear wine is there usually? it wines about 1/2 as loud a normal reverse gear taking off . after that the exhaust noise drowns out the wine.
it says its for an automatic not for a 833. since i dont know if or when the trans as was last went threw thew i will pull the trans and rebuild it after the mopar show in belvidere.
well rotating the drive shaft the yoke would flip and cause a thumping sound. the play is in the tail shaft bushing. there is enough play that you can see the yoke fall in the bushing.
