2 types of seam sealer for floor pan?

That looks pretty damn good for brushing. I contemplated doing that as well. Sounds much easier than having to mask everything off and I'm sure the fumes aren't as bad as an aerosol.

2 types of seam sealer for floor pan?

Wow thanks for that. Very nice job btw! Do you recall if it was more difficult to remove the sealer where the front floor pan meets the firewall...4 years ago :) ? What did you use after you sealed? Epoxy primer then base/clear? Thanks for this.

2 types of seam sealer for floor pan?

I assume you are speaking of strip caulk. It doesn't really seem like that to me as I am used to this stuff staying rather gooey, even over time. That stuff I removed was very tough. I took a look in the FSM and at the beginning of seam sealer section, they talk about "Body Seam Sealers (for...

2 types of seam sealer for floor pan?

Thank you for that. I was just thinking I'd try to replicate the white seam sealer in the places I removed it from. Both types appear to have been brushed on but they were definitely not the same. I bought a qt of brushable seam sealer from Eastwood. I typically don't buy from them but it was...

2 types of seam sealer for floor pan?

That's pretty funny and I can see that being true. However this sealer is under the carpet but what you described, as far as how each sealer cures, definitely seems to be the case. That white stuff was much more difficult to remove than the black. The black is still fairly soft but that white...

2 types of seam sealer for floor pan?

I removed all of the seam sealer from the floor pan in preparation for some TLC before I add new carpet. The sill area and where the rear pan meets the front pan had a rather brittle, black seam sealer that was easily removed, whereas the corners of the rear inner wells (where the bottom of the...

    Interior bare metal paint color?

Yes, I have noticed that. And absolutely. That is ultimately the main objective.

    Interior bare metal paint color?

As far as I know, this interior is original but seeing some other examples would be cool. Spraying whatever they have on hand makes sense. And thanks for clearing up the overspray bit. Based on what I was thinking, that didn't seem to be the case.

    Interior bare metal paint color?

Hmm...I feel I like I may have read that in another thread. So pretty much the paint that lands in there while they're painting the body? It seems like the coverage is better than just overspray and the texture doesn't seem as rough as I would expect either. I'm guessing most people don't...

    Interior bare metal paint color?

Was the interior bare metal painted the same color as the body from the factory? I'm not speaking of the areas that are visible like the upper door frame (mine is Alpine White in that case). I am referring to the floor pan for instance. I am treating some of the rust and will probably re seam...

Chargers for sale by crack addicts

If buyers are willing to pay these stupid prices, sellers will continue to ask stupid prices. It's that simple IMO. And that goes for anything

    Alternator discharging

Throw a volt meter on the battery and see what you are getting when it's running. A fully charged battery should read ~12.7 volts with engine off and ~14.7 while charging. As for the black stuff, probably unlikely but make sure your belt is not loose and at this point shot. That's what comes to...

    70 seat frame question

Ah ok that makes sense. I have a front bench so unfortunately I am of no help ;)

    70 seat frame question

I may be able to help but I can't quite determine where or what you are looking at. Is this the rear seat bottom? I took a look at both rear seat back and bottom frames and I don't see those cable chords that I think you are referring to. The seat covers on mine were definitely original so if...
