It all started in 1973. When I was 15 years old I received my first car. It was a hand me down from my sister who got it from an older brother. It was a green 1968 Plymouth Satellite. It had a 318 automatic. It was used and abused by the time I got it, but i was 15 and it ran. I drove it for about 5 moths then right before Christmas I talked my dad into letting me get a 69 Cornet 440. It was Gold with a white vinyl top and it was nice. It also had the 318 with automatic i had it for 3 weeks. Then following my best friend to get a starter for his 64 comet we had a VW pull in front of him. it was icy and he slid into the curb and I slid into him. Both of our cars were totaled. Nobody was hurt but it really sucked. I then got a 67 Cornet 440. It had the same 318 motor with automatic I was used to. I was convinced the 440 badge was just for show and no cornet 440's really had the 440 motors. But they were cars I really enjoyed. Three day before graduating high school in 1975, I fell asleep behind the wheel on the way home from a graduation party. I went into the ditch and jumped a driveway culvert. I slid into a telephone pole at a estimated speed of 55 mph. The only injury i received was a scratch from reaching into the engine compartment to pull the wire off the horn that was blaring. I have a lot of fun memories with these cars. I can't tell you how many times they were washed and cleaned out for a date. These were the cars i went through high school with. Last summer i picked up a 69 Plymouth Satellite. She has some rust issues and I have gathered parts to fix them. It includes front frame rails and crossmember. The rear window has issues as well. I have restored and built several cars through the years, and I've learned what it takes to properly fix this old girl. She will be on the road again to the pristine condition it deserves. I've already gotten a 440 motor and automatic transmission. I'm going to keep it simple with the bench seat like my three did. I am looking forward to information in my build is why I've joined this group. As a side note, My best friend who had the comet that we totaled so long ago. His next car was a 69 Charger. He had the 383 built by a local race car engine builder. I can't tell you what all was done to it except it was fast. It would outrun about anything in our area. We had a lot of fun in that car as well. He sold after high school and has regretted it ever since. We keep looking for another 69 charger and maybe someday we will find one we can afford. I have located one that really is a fair price for the work that has been started, but $25 K for a half-built project is out of our reach right now.

Thanks in advance for letting me join and I look forward to discussions in the future
