I have a 67 R/T 440 4 speed Dana car. It has a 71 440 6 pack engine in it now. I am building a 67 for the car.I want it to look stock but am putting in a solid cam and stroker crank. My question is headers or manifolds. I have the HP 67 stock manifolds and a new set of TTI headers. I have several people wanting the manifolds and just cant decide to sell them or not...
Just thought I would run it by you all and get some different thoughts on the matter.

Headers

Manifolds

TTi headers are a bit better flowing and im sure they set you back a bit of $.But I prefer HP Manifolds They look great all blastted primed/painted high heat steel

I really dont have any money in the headers or manifolds..

It's a '67 with a Six-barrel,but ya want to keep it stock looking??It will run better with headers

It has the 6 pack in it now. I know 67 is a little early for the 6 pack..lol
I am thinking headers..

Headers, less weight too.

I just removed the headers and installed '68 HP manifolds on my 496" six pack engine. I also wanted it to appear more "stock". I'm sure there is some, but, I can't really tell any power difference on the street, but there is a definite sound difference. That "tinny" header sound and the header leaks are gone. To me the manifolds look better too. It's also going to be easier to change starters or transmissions if the occasion arises.

Dude....no reason to go all bold on us because people (possibly) misunderstood what you posted.

What it all boils down to is: Is the cam a split profile or "square"?

Split, you can use manifolds.

Square, use the headers

Put the headers on the car while you have the hot rodded engine in it, but don't sell the manifolds! You will regret it someday if not immediatly after you install the 67 motor.
KID

no reason that I am using bold. sorry if I offended anyone. Thanks for all the feedback guys.

If you wanted to retain the stock look, you could do some porting on the manifolds......that's what I opted for anyway.

I'd go with the manifolds. I've never noticed a ton of difference in power between the two and I've never had a set of headers that didn't leak... plus I like the look of the manifolds better in most cases..

I think I might just go with the headers. I have gotten several PM's on the manifolds. I honestly dont know what they are worth.

Headers will pay off more at high RPM but if your criteria is to retain the stock look then there is only one option.

I am putting 2" Hookers on my 69 RR and calling it a day two mod, along with the aftermarket wheels.

I bought a set of TTI headers used in great shape. paid 375.00 they came ceramic coated, TTI get's 750 for a set shesh For hemi's you get screwed plus if I had the manfolds whhich are 650.00 a pair then I would have stayed with manifolds becuiase of less heat to the starter. Also the brake system likes less heat. So go with manifolds.

TTI's. Get your wallet. The weight and temperature reduction alone are worth it. Spring for the ceramic coating.
