Is there a donor car I can get the parts from to change the existing manual drum all around brakes on my 1966 Plymouth Satellite. It has the poly 318 factory 4 barrel ,automatic. Any info or parts available is greatly appreciated.

I posted this awhile ago, here's what I have found out.

Just went to the local self serve dismantler and found no less than 12 old Mopars (Cordoba, 5th Ave, New Yorker, Diplomat and Volare) that cross reference out as being the same setup that should (according to Gary GTX67) fit our b-bodies. I even found one car that had recent new calipers and rotors. Going back to get them later this week. Just need info on the brake booster/master & proportioning valve if anyone knows?

BTW, these are the spindle interchange listings for the 5th Ave that Gary gtx67 mentioned fit his 67. My local auto wrecker gave me the info. If the 5th ave fit, so should these:
Aspen 76-80
Caravelle 82-86 rwd
Charger 73-78
Cordoba 75-83
5th Ave 79-89
Diplomat 77-89
Coronet 73-76
Monaco exc Royale 77
Gran Fury 80-89
Imperial 81-83
LeBaron 77-81
Magnum 78-79
Mirada 80-83
NY'er RWD 79-89
Newport 79-81
Satellite & Roadrunner 73-74
Fury exc Gran 75-77
RoadRunner 75
St.Regis 79-81
Volare 76-80

Cheers!

the booster off the cordoba wont fit too wide. found some furys fit,and was told to use all factory lines ,and vales just put an adjustable prop valve in the line to the rear

I've been told before that the 5th Avenues fit so much that I bought a donor car. Haven't taken the spindles off and tried them yet, but I do know the booster won't fit. It's too wide. Proportioning valve has different size lines, so that will probabaly be fixed easiest by getting an adjustable one. Still though, anyone tried a booster? Fury's aren't sitting around as much as they used to be.

I talked to a guy from "Right Stuff" and he said that the kits for B-bodies are designed directly from the parts off of `73 A-bodies.. I bought a kit from them and it looks great , haven't installed it as the car is not ready for it yet.

I know the 80-85 M-body fit. The spindles ,caliber, slide mounts, flex hoses, and porportioning/combination valve will work. picked a set up at a local yard for 55 dollars.

Have you piped up the proportioning valve yet? Did you have to use alot of adaptor fittings?

HMM, good to know about the 5th Ave parts. That's my donor car as well.

I was hoping the lines and everything would work, as they're simmilar sized cars.

Anyone know if the 5th Ave M/C will fit and line up with an A body booster?

A 5th Ave is actually a better parts car than I originally thought.

Besides the brakes, you get 15x7 steel wheels that take 68 and newer dog dishes, high swirl/quench heads with hardened seats on a 9 to 1 318 with electronic distributor, and cruise control and power window parts that work at least on down to 73/74 or even earlier. Door handles fit 73/74 as well but not 100% correct. Wonder if the power locks could work..... Saw a 75 Coronet at LKQ with power locks...BIZZARRE, and totally different mechanism!

Well according to the article, M bodies aren't a good conversion piece. 5th Avenues are an M body correct? So will it work or not? Has anyone used these parts before?

Yes, it will work. Yes, the spindles are a little taller. I've had them in my Charger for almost 20 years.
