In 65, the highest performance engine available to the general public was the 426 Street Wedge factory rated at 365 h.p. Some will argue that this was a de-tuned 426 race motor with 10.5:1 compression and hydraulic lifters--others maintain it was a stroked 413 "luxo-motor" to 426, but using the restrictive heads, intake, etc. from the original 413. Most "street racers" of the time opted for the 383 10:1 compression rated at 330 h.p. which would outwind and outrun the 426 (speaking from experience). In any case, this is a very collectable find! Properly restored, this is a valuable piece of Mopar Muscle History--well worth the current bid of $4000.
