the 74?

It has that huge, dome vent thing and the tanks cost twice as much as others.

I was wondering if an ealier tank without the dome would fit in place instead.

Forget that stock tank and build you one out of aluminum make it about 35-40 gals. @150mph+ mine gets me about 300 miles. Dont know how to weld? then sell that mopar and get you a new V/W

40 gallons is huge, do you got it in the trunk, or strapped under? Why the hell would I want a VW?

74 Charger has the same tank. I was lucky I was able to have my original epoxyed inside and out and it was barely salvageable.

If I wasnt going to be able to use it I was going to go with an earlier tank. As you said the earlier tanks are easier to get and cheaper! Anyway, I was going to go with an earlier tank and cut the hump put of the trunk and weld in a patch... this would also have given me a nicer trunk in my opinion (I hate that hump now and should have done away with it)

yeah, I dont want to use a reseal kit.
If there was a tank renu service or other place near me I would use that.

But shipping back and forth makes the price enough that it a new tank would be the same price.

I really would like to throw in a new tank that costs less.

i dont know what you use the car for, maybe to go pick up your b/f and you 2 can use the moon roof to hang your butterfly nets out of.

is that pic of you?

check out what nascar runs.

when i hit the road its after dark my car never sees the sun and i hate car shows. whats the fastes you have had that r.r with the moon roof open LMAO!

oh yeah i have the tank in a 69 900hp GTX full roll cage with frame connectors etc..etc..

It's a Halloween picture. I took the family trick or treating in a 40 year old car so went in a 40 year old outfit.

You don't need to be too bright to figure out an avatar picture that looks like something out of a 60s or 70s movie is a joke.

The sunroof is a neat third gen option. If I want to try and save it instead of sealing it up on my car that's my business.

If you have nothing worthwhile to add to the post, go troll elsewhere. That is if you are not too busy cruising around at 150plus MPH in your 900hp GTX with a 40 gallon gas tank.

I have not had the RR faster than yard driving. The grille and headlights are not full screwed in, I just put an interior together in it, and it just got a windshield. The point is I am trying to get a classic MOPAR back on the road.

Hey asshole, there's no need for that here. ramair is posing a legitimate question, if you can't contribute something useful, go back to wherever the hell you came from.

I dont have a problem with anybody, i bought my first r.r. when i was 20, in 1980. It was a 69 -440-4 speed well i was hooked and have had one ever since. Oh yeah I hold an A&P ( A -stands for AIRFRAME thats sheet metal , methods of bending, welding and stuff you wouldnt understand ..P stands for POWER PLANT, that means i can tear down a jet engine and rebuld it - engines that put out over 30,000 lbs of thrust,,thats beyond h/p my friend. i`m a mechanic on aircraft for over 30 yrs f-15`s f-4s f-106 the list is as long as my arm and so is the list of license i hold... i sold the 69 r.r. to a guy that came from germany cause he heard I BUILT IT AND WANTED It FOR THE AUTOBAUN...i dont know how fast it was i took it up to 180 several times and that was @ 3/4 throttle. i didnt weld wings or install a fight control system in it .so i chickened out about going any faster...well i have had about 10 b bodies 3 a bodies 3 c bodies...never owned a ford , or amc . I drive a chevy truck 4x4 always have, i own 2 of them.. I would like to find a PLYMOUTH pick up if you ever run across one let me know.

just trying to educate the guy that he can MAKE OR get a tank made that will be better than any stamped out tank. I never ment to offend anybody...but I`m a repeat offender i will offend again :)

Oh yeah runner thats pretty funny you delete my posts and 3 quotes everyone of them LMAO.....

You're really being pretty condescending in your remarks. 180 in a 69 runner? not. I used to know someone running a 69 Bee at the salt flats. BUILT for the salt flats, aero tricks and all, and it wouldn't get close to 180.

Bet you're the guy who strapped the J.A.T.O. to the roof of an Impala and went airborne @ 300

"A" is for ADMIN. That means I keep people in line here, and when they don't?
"K" is for kicking their asses out of here when they act like a dick

That's not meaning to be offending? If it isn't, I don't know what is....and who cares what you know how to do when you say crap like that.

What the hell was wrong with that guy?

Better watch out for him though, he's a legend in his own mind.....

(excerpt from email, it's just too funny not to show)

"i went in the usaf in 1977 i retired as an e-8, i made e-6 in 5 yrs... i stayed in combat units the whole time ...as an f-15 top mechanic... i`m 6~6 ....250 lbs.. i wear a 16 shoe, there is a pic of me on my profile if you have enough brains to find it.... does that sound like a fat *** to you?...i kicked more marine and ranger *** than i care to remember...

i`m sorry your ignorant about mopars its not my fault....I really dont have time to play on the comp in the first place, i do it all. i never call anybody to fix anything i own. I dont have to prove a damn thing to your gay *** and you will never see me in a lawn chair @ a car show cause dum *** ******* like you hang out there.Plus i dont want any police to see my car.or anybody to know i own it...when you build cars like i do you keep your mouth shut, i said way to much already..You dont have to worry about me on b-bodies i dont think i will ever waste my time there again.
like i said my car never sees the sun. its black just like an sr-71 it looks burnt.. roll cage...airspeed indicators..the works, dont worry you will never see it.I cant believe your so ignorant. i could make a slant 6 do 150 mph, in my sleep"

Anyways, now that the last few snickers have been laughed, back to the topic,
a new tank will cost me about 300$ delivered, and 70 more or so for a new sending unit, o ring, and locking ring.

I am yard driving off of the original, but the neck can be pulled out or pushed in by hand and I am sure the spots of jb weld on the tank body are not for cosmetics. Are new necks available? Thanks for any info.

I need new tires, the tank, two new headlights, exhaust, and get the tail lights working and I should be fairly roadworthy. Maybe not with working gauges, a heater core, etc. but driving.

That reminds me, I have the body manual but not the service manual. Does the dash have to come out to remove the heater box and change the core in this? Because from what I have read you have to remove the windshield to remove the dash?!? That's a couple of bolts I sure would not be putting back in! Sort of like that one you cant reach to change the blower motor without dropping the inner fender, etc. on a gm a body.

Thanks for any info.
Now I better go hide my cars so the police don't see I own them.
