I did this car in 9 weeks. Was spending someone else's money, but it was still 9 weeks from start to finish.

Actually, the XP Charger is the 3rd Mopar we've built in 7 seasons.

1. George Barris' Supervan
2. Goodmark's Cuda
3. Keisler's Charger

Don't be too surprised if there's another one coming very soon. The response and support the Mopar community is giving these episodes is turning a lot of executive heads at Speed and with our sponsors! Thanks guys!!

How about a big ol C body? 65-73 Fury/Monaco/ Chrysler 300?
OR
A "CCR" of a geniune Police Pursuit Mopar?

The 69 Dodge Polara CHP cop car was the fastest cop car ever built.
It had to be to catch the musclecars of the day.
The most famous cop car is the 74 Monaco in Blues Brothers.
Mopar cop cars have a huge following.

For years,Chrysler engineers delivered what was demanded from the rigors of police cars.
A lot of that engineering found its way on civilian Mopars we all know and love..

Thought you all might like to see what I started with

one of one xp hemi charger the brochure car if you will, what a waste of a ultra rare car it shouldve been restored back to as used by the factory condition when it was used for advertising not a restomod as they are doing, there going the restomod route because its easier and they can get it on the air in there time formats rather than doing a original correct restoration that could easily take a couple of years its a lot easier to build a restomod or hot rod whatever you want to call it because there is no right or wrong way to do it its what ever you want and there still is a lot of work doing it that way as well but doing a concourse quality as built by the factory restoration takes a lot of research and documentation and a special person to do it i would have rather seen it given the proper restoration that it deserved not hacked up into what there building just my 2 cents worth though.

The PRESIDENT of AMD and the head of the installation manager said it would be best to do a stock restoration. Dan Woods said they were not going to modify the car. It will probably spark a replica movement from unsatisfied Mopar fans

Nope. I put in 8-9 hour days. The car belonged to a friend of a friend. The owner had bought it NEW. It had been languishing in his garage for about 18 years, and he had been diagnosed as terminal.

I had the car apart in two days. Sent the motor out for machining, trans to be built, bumpers for chrome, body for paint, ordered tons of parts, (TTI exhaust, Legendary covers and carpet, hard parts for the motor) located correct valve covers, bead blasted, masked, painted, rubbed, scrubbed........

another pic of the motor

I want to chime here.

1st this I want to say is I am NO LONGER A KEISLER EMPLOYEE so my post has nothing to do with them. I have asked for a name change but haven't heard anything yet.

2nd Dan I applaud you for not tearing into the OP and the other haters on here.

It was good seeing you and your crew around Keisler during the shows filming. One question though did you ever think you where going to get to leave? lol

Ok Rant on.. To the OP and his posse who hated until Dan came on here to post and then turned around. WTF? seriously that was a high school move. Then trying to jockey to get your car done after the flaming you started with.
And whine I will never finish my car. Well sell it so someone else has the chance to enjoy it.

The Hemi Xp was a total basket case. It needed all new panels it was a shell of a car. Garbage to most. No on single person on here would have tackled the car. It took many vendors to come together to put that car back on it wheels. I for one think they did a great job. The car looks awesome and I am sure the new owner when that happens will enjoy it.

Rant off

P.S. Revhendo I will send Shafi an email alerting him of my post so you don't have too!

Your intitled to your opinion , but so are we . I have flamed this build on several boards and I still stand behind what I said on all of them . This car was way to rare and special of a car to be cut , hacked and restomodded IMHO. There are a ton of non one of one rust buckets out there that could have been modified and not ruining this rare hemi car . I like chop cut rebuild and have watched it with my sons since the first seaon with the supervan , ranger builds . This car was just not a car that should have be done on this show . A mopar expert shop should have gotten this rare car . My .02 that and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee .

Really Gene? You gonna try and punk me like that? You fly a finger at a member on FABO on a thread about Keisler and then much later explain that it was a joke between you and Abodyjoe after a bunch of folks get torqued and it's me you bag on? What a douche'.....
Strange that you are asking for name change but haven't changed your avatar.
As far as what you say about Keisler, let's just say your timing is impeccable.
I really could care less.
As far as your opinion about the build of the Charger, I really could care less.
You claim to be here as just another Mopar enthusiest, but I question that.
If you truly were a member of this forum, you truly would understand how ignorant you claim about the car being to far gone to restore really is. Take a look in the member restoration threads and see what some of these guys can do. In their garage. With no corporate sponsorship. Get it?

Piss off.
Rant off.

Gene, I started reading your post and thought "gee....if you had asked me to change your name I'd be happy to oblige"...until you started punkin on me.

Fact, the XP, unlike my "J" is a legit "one of" (although I'm sure mine is to if you break down the options far enough). If you were a real Mopar enthusiast you would probably feel like the majority and think the car should have been returned as close to 100% original condition as possible.

Again, siting my "J" code runner, unless a Christmas miracle happens, it will never have it's original motor and trans reunited with the body. I'd prefer it had them, but I'm ok with them being gone, cause the bottom line is it's a real Hemi car. and since it (probably) won't be numbers matching, I'm ok with the thought of changing a few things, but leaving the majority of the car as original. (color, interior, most options)

I don't have deep pockets (at the moment). The last few years haven't been really good to me financially, and I have no idea when, or if I'll get to do this car. Someone has to own the cars that get restored/redone/restified in these shows, so why the **** NOT me? How many R6 Hemi runners you ever see? How many with rear speaker AND rear defog?

I'm guessing none.

But I stand by what I said............unless Dan chimes in and says the prying of the horn pad and standing on the steering wheel for removal was just "bullshit" done for TV. If he does I'll be more than happy to apologize and/or edit my original post.

So when it gets down to it, Foose, CCR, that new show someone on here is trying to get on the air? I don't care. I just want it saved. It deserves to be saved. And if you've got the deep pockets, then step your big mouth up and buy the damn thing. Otherwise, stfu.

My apologies to the Forum at large

I am a douche because I gave AbodyJoe the finger and a bunch of girls got there panties in a wad.

Good point I changed it.

let's just say your timing is impeccable.

This was really a joke towards you but your panties must be in a wad.

Well that is your opinion

I get it but to whine about not having the gumption or the money to do this to your own car. Then down a guy because he worked harder in life, because he has the influence to get it done. Mean while most of you sit on your *** and bitch about it. Its the hater mentality that defeats one's own self.

69Runner,

So how do I get my name changed then?

I still stand behind my post as well. I am a Mopar enthusiast. I don't own any old Mopars as I currently am raising 3 girls and my extra money well there is no extra money.

I don't pretend to know all things about Mopars and I certainly cant distinguish codes or preach them.

I am however a huge fan!

I do own two newer Mopars as My daily drivers and the last several have been as well.

I truly understand in the hobby there are the purest. They would want to see the car back to its original glory. Yea maybe it deserved that however. If it had been how often would it be shown or utilized. It would have sit in a museum or some guys collection.

I am not calling you out on any but how you changed directions once Dan came on here. Listen I understand no ones wants to be called out.

I knew full well what the responses would be. It is liberating not to have to watch my tongue there have been many times I have wanted to blast but couldn't.

Anyway Flame on Dudes!!!

Just send me a PM and tell me what you want it changed to and I'll take care of it

I agree 100% I stand behind runner. How dare the passion and faith of a Mopar enthusiast come into question? We may not always get alone or agree one something but that is too far. The Hollywood types are stuck up ususally and could not really care less about actuallity because they are paid to do what they are told. Shafi is a great guy and I respect him for being able to find this COVETTED TREASURE. I was glad this car was saved but the manner in which the process ocurred was disappointing to say the least.
