Anyone ever rent equipment and strip your own car???
Any tips?
What grit and media is best, what about protective equipment, how far away should you hold the gun from the car?
I am stripping everything.
Thanks for the input.

Don't use sand. Use soda or some other non-abrasive media. Sand will remove the original rust preventative coating on the metal, and can also create heat which will warp the metal. Soda, or walnut hulls, or plastic media won't harm the metal in any way.

Agreed. Protective equipment should be a suite and helmet like a towel with glasses kind of "Hood" to wear. Gloves to go with it, boots!

Protect all your equipment with platic covers. It'll get everywhere. (The media)

Besides what th eother guy's have mentioned watch your angle and distance to the metal. Again, this all depends on the material you are shooting, the equipment (tips/pattern), psi, etc.
