yellow68runner man up!!

I've bought stuff from him on 2 seperate occasions and found him to be very fair and even generous, I am suprised to hear this.

I bought some stuff from him not too long ago and had no issues with payment or the representation of the items, but I prepared the shipping label and emailed it to him so it didn't cost him a dime. He just took the amount off the price. He even threw in a little Johnny Lightning RR as a gift.

The only issue I did have was the carb was not boxed well at all. He might as well have wrapped it in newspaper!! I'm surprised there wasn't more damage. Annoyed? Yes, but I'll count my lucky stars it wasn't a disaster. I emailed him pictures of the damage with a polite message suggesting he pack the next carb better. No reply.

Since I'm on the subject, a quick tutorial on shipping: 3-4 inches of padding all the way around the part and if it's heavy you will need dense packing material and/or more space. Remember, the shippers do not handle our packages like they are made of egg shells, so when the box is dropped the item inside is still accelerating towards the floor. The shipper needs to take the appropriate measures to protect the item and no shipping company will pay an insurance claim if it's not packed properly.

Still havent heard anything from him. I never rec'd carbs, as I refused to pay the fees brought on by him not shipping as per my request. ***-clown cant follow instructions, and then he says its my fault??

That's a shame.

Wonder if he'll get back to you if he were not able to post anything else for sale here till he does.......

Thanks for making it a sticky!! Still no word from him, and I dont expect to hear from him, I chkd the tr# and the parts are in the US I would assume on their way back to him

Thanks

Not sure why I read the whole thread, but this comment made me look again on a login to a buy I did. "He even threw in a little Johnny Lightning RR as a gift. "
The different and will remain nameless seller did the same thing to me, ie give me a car gift. Also the parts were fine.

I have never bought anything from him, but have chated and met him and just didn't seem like that type. He even gave me a heads up on some jokers in his area I was trying to buy a car from, and he was right!

When the buyer and the seller are both in the same country, there are less chances of issues. It is when it crosses a border that it can get messy. I simply instructed him to ship via USPS. This was not followed and he basically told me too bad. Click on the link and read the entire thread. There is a reason I asked for USPS...for me it wasnt worth it any other way as the "broker" fees are $64.

While we are on the subject gentlemen, a certain member over at FABO (4spdragtop) sold me a timing cover. The son-of-a-beep put a fart in the packaging. Beware of packaged farts from this guy! :bootyshake:

Next one will be delivered in person there Willy!!:pottytrain5:

I clear my own UPS shipments, doesn't cost me a dime except for taxes which I would pay no matter what company delivers to me. I am shocked at how few people do this. UPS is quicker, better tracking, etc. For what its worth.....

UPS may be faster and better tracking, but wait till the day that they damage something in shipment! Those s.o.b.'s will NEVER get any business from me again, in fact I won't even receive a package from them anymore.

I will say the two claims I filed with UPS were both nothing but a farce.

The first was for a complete A-body disk brake set.
they came took photos of the boxes (because at one time along the delivery route it was repackaged in another box because the original came apart from their poor handling skills. There was parts missing including a rotor when it arrived to me.
Once I started the claim I couldn't even ask any questions about it. Because I wasn't the shipper, they wouldn't so much as tell me anything about the status of the claim.

The next was for a set of 1970-71 A-body bucket seats with tracks.
After delivery I opened the boxes as each seat was packages separately. I was astonished at what I was looking at. One of the seats looked like the UPS truck ran it over. I can think of no other way it could have bent the top, bottom, and flattened out the tracks.
I called, they came and picked the seat up, did their "investigation" and re-delivered the seat to me.
once again after that I was cut out of the loop of those that have the need to know.

Both times I paid for the shipping (not free shipping), however because the seller actually handed my cash over to the shipping place they were the one who would get the claim refunds.

Either way I was out my money and the product as purchased.

Such is life. I'm not sure how I'll approach it next time, but I'll be darned if the seller is going to get a refund check again.

Broker fee's? you cunnucks have some crazy **** up there. lol Not packing your own product is mistake #1. When you refused it and had them send it back did it go with free medical? could use some of that stuff here too. J/K No one panic....
