I'm finally tearing my front suspension apart and want to freshen EVERYTHING up,I have the whole front suspension out except for K frame (I'll eventually get it out) I was wondering if I should pay to have the LCA's and k frame hot tanked then sand blasted,or if it's better and cheaper to clean them up as much as I can and go straight to blasting them? I have brand new spindles and am planning on using tubular upper control arms as well as new brake hardware so thats stuffs gonna go up for sale.

Buy a can of Foamy Engine Bright, take everything to the quarter car wash then media blast. Some of the quarter car washes have an engine degreaser setting.

Easy Off oven cleaner from Dollar general will do the trick, take grease and paint right. Scotch bright it, degrease prior to prime and paint with carb cleaner. I used hi temp
Flat black and it came out look great.

thanks, I've already given everything I can a heavy coat of engine degreaser,I guess I can take off all the real nasty stuff off myself then take it to the blaster.

I just used my pressure washer to get all the crap off.....does a pretty good job. Sand blasting puts sand in all the hard to reach areas and seems like it comes out little by little over time. Not a good pic but this is what I do to the ones going into other than stock restored cars....the one on the right is 26 lbs.
