Re-body an LX car with a B body?

I REALLY want to go with the SRT-8 car; better brakes, wheels, suspension, engine, electronics, seats, etc. Plus, merging GTX and SRT-8 gives me a working title something like this: SRT-X

I say do it!!! It will be one sweet ride when finished.....so get off the couch and start on it already, lol!!

well ben from plumfloored will be doing this on my 68 charger this summer.....will let you know...

if you can score one cheap Donny, GO FOR IT!!! that would be freakin sweet!!

i vote for GTX-8, although SRT-X is cool too!

I like GTX-8! Cool! I bet this swap is 600 or so hrs.

Ben @ plummedfloored has nothing on his site showing he can/has done this modification, I'd think he'd want to get this message out on the street!

1968/2007 custom dodge charger r/t conversion

I believe that you are looking for our conversion car.
the one that has been featured in MCC and Mopar Action.
Voted #1 for 2009
Fabricated, Engineered, Modified, Restored by our family Dan, Jen, Josh and Jacob with paint going to Dan's brother Mike.

This is a real working , fully functional, fully cruising Mopar with all the comfort and technology of the new with the old body style.

This is not for the faint at heart. alot of time and thought was put into this project.
West Coast Customs has nothing on this car. we can actually drive it, and boy do we drive it. a perfect pro-touring car.

We live up in Canada. We do this for a living.
check out
thanks

Moparmagic, I just checked you stuff...unfreakin' believable!!! The Charger is awesome, my hat is off to you a nd the rest of your guys for doing such a great job!

Yeah, ditto Mopar Magic. I can see this is not for the feint of heart! I'm interested in the tie in points; rocker panels-what parts of what car is used, mix of both, biased towards one of the other? Also, the front fenders, how did you hang 'em on the new Charger inner frame assembly?

...also wheelhouses; I would guess the old ones are trashed and a merging of the new and old to accommodate the LX suspension? Also firewall, I would think the LX firewall is used -- or as much of it as possible is used. Like a stubborn mule I am on this proposed project; since my GTX is not assembled yet, and all the new steel I bought I could sell -- that is the steel I don't need; floors etc.

But, as I sit down and design all my stuff; rotisserie, car dolly/work stand (see my Chevelle thread), I'm going to have to steal my wife's car (07 Charger RT) for a day and take lots of pictures, measure the car, put it on my lift and compare, etc.

One thing is good, that is the new LX cars coming out will drive the price of the current model down. Right now, I can buy a used and good (not wreck) RT Charger for about $14K, not too sure if I want to mess with a wreck; we'll see!

what they did there was to use the standard b body platform and bolt the dash and seats in they didn't drop the b body over an srt8 chassis thats why they used an alterkation k frame
