i have a new one ill take 150.00 shipped

Be very careful of what you buy. I had the same problem getting. One for my 69. That part is only good for a 69. A part from any other year will not work. Nor does any one sell them new or have them as reproductions. I had my rebuilt by classic air. I shipped it to them in Tampa, and two weeks later it returned good to go. PM me if you want further info.

What was the cost to rebuild it?

I'd like to know the rebuild cost as well. I broke that tiny copper tube/line taking mine out to paint.

Thanks.

How could you break it, those have the three "anchor" screws in them and there should be no reason to have broken it. Anyways I rebuilt it myself, and water tested it. Fist take the brass tubing off the backing plate. I polished it with a FINE wire brush and fine steel wool. then I clear coated it to keep the outside from developing a patina. then I removed the valve body and I cleaned it with a good solvent. I regreased the valve on the insed of the part. Next clean up the plate with a wire brush, and either paint or plate, your choice. Then I pushed the tubing back into the palte and folded the little tabs over. Then I did the same with the valve body and I reinstalled the little spring after a little cleaning and painting. I reinstalled the little plastic spring coverand sealed it with caulk. I then applied caulk around the backside of the plate where the tabs protrude. as for the cable, just water and a cloth to remove dirt. the copper lead must be straightened out but be careful not to break it. the plate on the coil spring at the end of the lead is the color of the air box. Lastly the "anchor" screws were zinc plated and the face plate got a stripe of red paint across the bare part of the backing plate that is visible from the engine compartment.

There you go.:idea1:

It costs me a little over a hundred rebuilt and replated, and shipped back from Tampa Fl.

I'm about 40 min from Tampa via I4...

Took the valve out through the front of the firewall...had about 1 inch of play, and as I was looking for a way to unhook stuff, POP.....dang!!

Had already disconnected the cable, but couldn't quite see the connection for the copper.

Other option was taking out the whole box from the interior, I guess.

Probably gonna have to do that eventually anyway.

I just might have another complete by-pass valve which you could have rebuilt. Let me know if you're interested.

OK I see that was kind of a rant but that is off now. No more:icon_axe: from me, :) well the cars are old and it's understandable.

broken

It's not broken, I am told it has a leak in it, plus it needs to be cleaned.

heater valve

I looked through my core box, yes I save all of them. Here is one I have, and I dont recall what year it came out of. Looks similar. Its a Ranco H16. levers all move free.

I'll sell it and ship direct to a rebuilder if that makes sense. $20

the one for a 70 charger WILL WORK but they have a vacuum connection on them that you do not use. Cost almost $200. I found it on the internet
