I'm planning to put a 522 stroker that will have 600 fp of torque around 4000 rpm. I'd like to put TTi exhaust system in- headers, x pipe and full pipes to the rear bumper.

Can anyone give me an idea if 2.5" will be enough, or will I need 3"?

Also would dumpers help or hinder when I go to the track?

Thanks,

I have TT headers with a 3" X-pipe on my Stroked 340 to a 416 in my 1971 Demon. The heads are ported so that the exhaust can be dumped faster, so I imagine 3" would lessen scavenging.

Any clearance issues with dumpers an X pipe and a driveshaft loop? What about heat in the cabin from a 3" system?

The Big Tube TTI's and a 3" system will work good. You should add some electric cut-outs for when you need them.

Uncork it and install a 3 inch system. I would install cutouts too if the mufflers do not flow very well like flowmasters.

Agree on the 3" exhaust. I have a 500 incher 12.5 to 1 compression and use 2" headers into a three inch exhaust that dump by the rear tires. I have cutouts as well and it likes being uncapped as it does run better that way. .

No clearance problems on my little 'A' body, but I do sweat buckets in it even in Pittsburghs mild summers. There was a product that you could paint on metal for a heat shield and supposedly it made the interior 30 degrees cooler......seems like a sales pitch. It was on the show that airs before 'Muscle Car' on Spike this past Saturday.

I called TTi today. I guy named Mike said he doesn't think their X pipe will clear a drive shaft loop. He also said that TTi doesn't make dumpers for a '69 B body.

Sounds strange to me. I thought B bodies were "a dime a dozen..."

TTi did refer me to US Car Tool because they have a drive shaft loop. Honestly, I hadn't heard of US Car Tool before. Here's what I found:

Fits All A, B & E body cars
Small blocks, Big Blocks and Hemi
Automatics (727 & 904) and 4-speed
7260, 7290 and 1350 U-joints
5" ID loop for Stock or extra large diameter racing driveshaft
Stock Exhaust - Single and Dual - including headers
H Pipe Cars (Factory Hemi & 440-6 pack)
Most aftermarket large H & X pipe cars (TTi etc.)

Anyone have any particular experience with a loop and an X pipe?

That motor NEEDS a 3" exhaust for sure.

That is the same safety loop they sell at Mancini Racing.

Thanks for the pictures, '62Savoy.

I e-mailed Mancini Racing earlier this week since they sell the TTi stuff and the same loop. I didn't hear back from Mancini, so I'm planning to call them tomorrow.

Mancini says that the TTI X pipe and the US Car Tool loop on their site won't fit.
