Seat Belt Question

I have a 1969 RR; took out the shoulder belt that hangs just above the drivers and passage side window. One end of the belt is bolted into the side the other has a buttons on the end. My question is, the end with the button where does it button on to; either the button on the belt or behind it (on the roof.

on the roof , i took mine out years ago because the elastic keep stretching and it hung down , when i put the new head liner in i just deleted all the stuff .

You should have a snap near the coat hook. If not you can feel the hole for the screw threw the head liner

So the end snaps to the button next to the coat hook no to the belt it-self. I know the elastic stretches out but I would like to keep it looking original. Thanks for your help

The buckle goes to the visor, the belt is anchored at the bolt you see and the elastic snaps near the coat hook!
