It would be interesting to hear what people's personal favourite '74 to '79 Mopar B bodies are.

Any takers out there?

My friend had a pretty bad 76 Cordoba. Black with tan leather, a built 440, 727 and 391s. That car screamed.

:rolling: @ Daniel , I got something for ya..... :black_eye: J/K as well.

The last of the old style Chargers I like alot and Magnums. That's it.

The only (sorta cool) Mopar I've owned that was built after 71 was a Volare road runner 4 speed car so I can't pick from personal experience. BUT....on pure aesthetics I'd maybe have to vote for a Magnum.

I am out there, but I would have to say the 1975 Plymouth Fury Custom 4 dr

74 Satellite, what was so special about the '75 Fury Custom that makes it stand out for you. Did it have the squad package?

My '75 was not an A38 car (Squad package) but I just loved the body styling, it was roomy inside, seats were comfortable, the 360 had plenty of oomph. Always got compliments on the car, thing took the abuse of a 17 year old in stride. Plus it was different than the normal hotrodder would drive. I like having/driving something that isnt so mainstream. The single headlights and the grille just made it look menacing in the rearview mirror. It was the same gold color as my '74 Satellite that I drive now but I changed it to blue one summer.

I hold a fondness for this body style that I just cant explain...

Any 74-78 B-body cop car fans out there?

yep me!!!

My favorite would have to be a 75 Roadrunner. Never had one, but i had a 75 fury 2 door and a 75 Coronet 2 door, almost the same thing.

Now I really like that two door hardtop body style, that reddish orange looks very nice.

Okay, so I'm thinking that my answer to this question is "Um, let's see: smog motors with 8 to 1 compression, shock absorber bumpers, 85 mph speedos, electronic lean-burn-out-systems, granny-matics in everything, anything but stylish body designs, and drunks on the assembly lines churning out copious amounts of automotive crappola. How about there ain't no such thing as my fav-o-rite '74 - '79 B-Body?" Then alleyoop throws that pic of the '75 Runner up on the board and we have an instant winner! I cast my vote with him! All of that other stuff I just mentioned can be overcome by an admiring and determined owner, and of course a lot of dollars...

Well, acmwe a12, you sound like you don't like the later B bodies. And a problem with alley, and the money he threw at it, makes it better? Gezzz, why did you even post in the thread.

In the last 5 years of owning my car, I have replaced 1 item only, a fan switch.

I think what he meant was he got a new appreciation of those cars by virtue of the posting of that one pic.

You clearly misinterpretted the intent of my post.

No, I am not a huge fan of the later B-Bodies, and for reasons I clearly stated and a tad embellished - Albeit done with some humorous intent. Hence the smiley tongue flap that you somehow missed. I do however prefer them to most Brand X vehicles or the wrong wheel drive crap favored currently by the youth of our great nation. But you'd be hard pressed to find anyone on this board that would rather have a smogger 360 in a late seventies land-yacht than a Hemi-powered '67 GTX or '70 Charger, or a 440-6 motivated '69 Road Runner or Super Bee.

I know of no problem with alley, or any money he threw at anything so I have no idea what you are talking about. That red Charger was obviously loved on by someone given its striking appearance and that prompted my comment about being determined and throwing a few coins at a project.

I think that it's fabulous if you personaly have had that kind of outstanding service from your car. As a whole US automakers weren't too good during the time period that this thread focuses on; perhaps we wouldn't have all of the Hondas, Toyotas, et al on the road here today if the Big Three had their sh*t together back in the day.

Lastly, and to be perfectly clear: Any perceived malice in my comments is just that; PERCEIVED - not intended. I POSTED BECAUSE I LIKED THE '75 CHARGER...and I am entitled to my opinion. Lighten up. It's the holidays for crying out loud.

Great post, however, its a 1975 Roadrunner, not a charger  ....I have owned 5 mid to late 70's mopars and they have all been remarkably reliable, the only one that gave me any heartaches was the '77 Monaco patrol car and thats because it was driven hard while in service. (I assume).

However, for sake of argument, I LOVE all MOPARS regardless of year

*Except maybe the A-body, since its hard to get my fat butt in and out of them :rolling:
