Thats to bad. Some times it takes more than a day for the right person to see a thread and reply to it. If you are still intrested let us know. I got a few tricks as do others here.

In my own personal experience, anytime you start peeling crusty dirt and rust caked panels apart on these old shells for repairs... You end up shedding buckets and buckets of dirt and rust. Automatic weight reduction!

Guess he had a 48 hour deadline on the project. Some of us work for a living. :tied up:

Rammy/impatient I suppose, I never got to see the original post question either.

Weight reduction eh?

I suggest acid dipping the chasis like the good ole boys used to do back in the day with their race cars.

tech inspector leans on the race car during inspection and the body dents in from the weight of leaning on it.....

hmmmm, strange.

Well, when you're located in hell, you always have a fire under your *** so you got to keep moving! :D And just for the hell of it, I brought my 66 Belvedere down from 3370 to 2950 and the ac was still on it! :)

What did you do? kick your buddies out of the back seat?

"I'm sorry but you guys can't ride back there when i'm racing any more"

:eek:ccasion14:

Nope....back seat was the first thing to get thrown out lol

even seen people trim bumper brackets to save a few pounds/fiberglass peices/aluminum upgrades

As it was his first post i sure hope weve all learned our lesson - lol
ill be missing all of his helpful comments

My car had over 100 lbs of undercoating!! I couldn't believe it. I guess whoever sprayed it at the factory was really S L O W with the spray wand lol

lord I appologize for my next confession but... well here it is.

I've been a Ford guy pert near all my life...

Whew, good thing i put my flame proof suit on cause I feel the heat comin!

Anyways, yeah i'm familiar with some of the aluminum and fiberglass tricks too.

Take the Ford thunderbolt for instance...

Wiki quote in regards to the 64 ford fairlane thunderbolt:

"Fiberglass hood, doors, fenders and front bumper, acrylic glass windows, and other lightweight options including deleted rear door window winders, carpeting, radio, sealant, sun visors, armrests, jack, lug wrench, heater, soundproofing, and passenger side windshield wiper."

NHRA decided they wanted all stock class cars to wear metal bumpers so Ford started hanging aluminum ones on the T-bolts from that point on and existing owners were also supplied with an aluminum one to replace fiberglass front bumpers.

In the mid 70's I was into Mudstains. Had 5 of em and at the same time lol. Two were Fastbacks...one a 65 and the other a 66. The Mustangs were pretty light and for a reason...they were built that way. It amazed me how easy they crunched in a wreck. Anyways, my 66 was right at 3000 lbs with a 289 and T-10 with the 8" rear. The fold down rear seat was heavy but the weight was in the perfect spot. The 66 was a stock block 2v motor with a Torker intake, 600 DP and headers and with a 2.80 gears, it ran a 15 flat. Not too shabby for a 289 back then. It got 21 mpg out on the road doing 70 but it topped out at only 4800 rpm with G-60-15's.....do the math :D

You think with having all of eternity, a guy from hell would be a bit more patient..Geesh.

Probably busy playing cards with Hitler or possessing the x-wife

He obviously doesn't know about the communication delay (lag) between here and hell.

There's a 26 hour communication lag between hell and the internet, **** I thought everybody knew that?

If he could have hung in there 10 more minutes then we could have had a chance to fill him with our collective ..... knowledge.

But he edited the post 10 minutes short of the interweb to hell com lag duration.

Bummer, rookie mistake.
