I see quite a few members from FABO and other Mopar sites here. Although not my first GTX, my current b-body is a '68 GTX vert that is also one of the original eight pilot/show cars built on July 31, 1967. It is the 3rd (out of the eight) to pop up. All eight were equipped exactly alike: GG1, white top, white interior, PS, PDB, PW, tach etc. Mine just turned 69K and is line for a restoration behind 1.5 more of my projects (probably 3-4 years away). I look forward to participating on FBBO.

Extra cool, and Welcome.
I had a 69 runner vert that was kinda like that. It wasn't a pilot car, but it was one of 27 identical verts. B5, with white buckets, 4 speed, no console, N96, tach, power top and power windows.

I want another one of those

hey gtx nice to see you. I was wondering how long it would take you to get here.

Well, thank you very much. I have been spending alot more time on the computer this past week since I had tore a muscle in my ribcage loading a motor into the trailer last week. Let me tell you ... this is just another reminder that I am no longer 18. ;-) I will be catching up on getting things (ex. a dash assembly) out this upcoming week even if it kills me.

Your '69 must have been stunning. Do you have any pics of it that you can share? I will post pics of the '68 tomorrow (in it's current state). If I have the patience to type the story out of how Galen attempted to broker my car out to Jay (wo/it being for sale), I will bang on the keyboard tomorrow.

I've heard of the these RR's. A buddy of mine and his father have two of them! I don't know if they have the same production # for them though?
Very interesteing!

Here's an older picture of Mikes RR. It seems to me that he may have added the hood treatment, but I'm not sure? I know that he added the wheel lip moldings. The car is currently running on Kelsey Hayse recall whells and redlines. I think his and his fathers cars are about 5 #'s away from oneanother?

I have pics of the one I owned, but they are from way back and it was a total disaster. When I bought it, it had a 69 Super Bee front clip on it simply because the driver's fender had been dented right at the headlight. Then, the Bee fender was hit in the same spot. So it had a white Bee driver's fender on the blue Bee front clip, along with the original blue runner clip, and an ORANGE replacement runner fender.:whew:

I removed the Coronet clip and reinstalled the runner clip with the original dented fender. Eventually it got sold, and despite me talking about it and a really good friend of mine KNOWING where it was, he never told me so I could have tried to get it back.

It popped up years later with blue interior and a missing fender tag. Guy who owned and drove it was told by whoever he got it from it was supposed to have the blue interior.

So I called him back later, told him what the VIN was (cause he didn't believe I used to own it) and cleared up a few things about how the car was supposed to be. I am still interested in getting that car back, or acquiring one of the other 26. There was one on ebay in the last month or two, but the timing wasn't good.

(edit) that is actually it under the car cover parked in front of my T5 car in my avatar

Looking at the pics, mine did NOT have the hood stripes, but DID have the white longitudinal

Mine decodes with the white longitudinal stripes as well and they will go back on when the X is taken back to GG1 ... someday.

BTW: What's up with the hatred of green Mopars on Moparts? I've caught a couple of threads re: that and thought it was funny until I figured out that most of the people were serious.

Ben, are those headrests original to the car ? I'd be surprised to see them on a pilot car.

To the best of my knowledge, yes. The other pilot car I saw (in Gig Harbor, WA) also had them as well. BTW: Why would you be surprised to see them on a pilot car? Is it the mnfr date or just because it is a pilot?
