this car has been sitting around the corner from my house for ever, today i knocked on the door to see what their plans were for it.. the little old lady said come by later and talk with my husband, more the likely he'll just give it to you.
looks to be about a 1975 fury, tags say 1999 was the list time it was on the road, it's got cop wheels and caps, dual exhaust, holes in the trunk for dual antennas, i'm starting to think it my be an ex-cop car, but the interior is tan color and pretty clean. i figured i could use the engine and trans for other projects

question is strip and flip it or drive it into the ground

I'd take it for nothing. It's what they call a " Win - Win Situation ". LOL

I would drive it just the way it is. Put a spot light on it and pull up behind 60 year olds in their hot rods to see if they slow down and keep checking their mirror.

I have tons of knowledge on those cars, I have owned 4 of them in that body style to include a old Texas Highway Patrol car. If it has single headlights its a 75 or 76. If they are square on top of each other, it is a 77 or 78. Check the fender tag for the "A38" code. If its there, its a cop car. They are great cars, and any old police officer will tell you it was one of their favorite pursuit vehicles. Even today it is rated in the top 3 all time police vehicles.

Also if its a police vehicle, they usually came with a vinyl floor covering instead of carpet and will most likely have a "Certified" 150 MPH speedometer

After looking at it again, it looks like a '78 to me. Id get it running and drive the piss out of it.

First 2 digits in the VIN should be PK

P--Plymouth

K--Police

Also check for a rear sway bar.

Worst case scenario, you could part it out if its not a cop car. If it is, Id restore the thing, they are tanks!

Won't be fooling this 60 year old! :upside down:

My cop car had tan interior and fully loaded! Even had carpeting in it lol.

If it were me I'd fix whatever needed fixing and drive the hell out of it. If in the end it turned out to be better off for parts and I made some cash off of it, I'd honestly try and kick some back to the old couple.

i.d take it if it were free, but even if they wanted $100 for it, grab it and run, don't look back.
