anyone know the correct shine or finish for the black stripes on the hood and rear deck for a 67 gtx? paint is ppg 9000, but don't know how glossy or flat to make it..
I've always used flattening agent in a clearcoat for a good "eggshell" semi-gloss over my black base....I have one in the shop right now gettin' prepped for a big blackout job......Has a "sheen" unlike flat, and takes wax nicely......(but you need to be careful not to over-rub the black or buff it out).
I just don't like flats.....Period. As far as "correct", I believe you'd have to flatten it beyond a shine or sheen.......Dull would be more like it.
my 67 had the stripes removed at the dealership. it is turbine bronze metallic with a black vinyl top and the orig paint is really very glossy or shiny. i wanted to make the stripes look correct. thanks
