needs restoration ...silver on red /red roof stripes/hemi tail spoiler.power disc brakes /power window's/all hemi equipment an auto trans present....no motor. dealer air/original dual quad intake with carbs persent./all air equipment present...whats it worth car is solid with the exception of drivers floor pan from broke'n drivers window.rest of glass is excellent an tinted.

WHAT DO U GUYS THINK THIS CAR WOULD BE WORTH IN PERSENT CONDITION.

Not only pictures but what works and what doesn't and condition of some specific parts.

There are some 66/67 Charger only parts that are not reproduced and dificult to find that will make a HUGH difference to anyone that knows these cars and these things.

1. Head light motors
2. Grille
3. Tailight lense.
4. Rear quarter panels
5. Dash illumination system

The down side is that the 66/67 unlike the 68-70 model Chargers don't get much love. They are a love it or hate it car, not much in between.

They are the lowest valued Hemi car you can buy.

By the time you buy the missing Hemi, paint it, do the interior, etc. If you got the car for free you will have more in it than it is worth. So no one that can afford to buy a done car like it will not be interested.

Just off the top of my head if the parts I mentioned above are in good condition the car will part completely for around $5000.

working on pics...hey 696 pack the carbs an intake r worth about 5 grand...thanks though for your input! i'll have pics with in a couple weeks just start'n to clean up the storage area.

OK, Let me refrase this. Would a dealer be able to add air to a hemi car? I've never ever heard of air being on a hemi car.

In the mid 60s I would say No, the Dealers I knew wouldn't have attempted it, and would have gotten one Hell of Chuckle at the thought of a customer wanting A/C on a Hemi,:rolling:

Now move forward 40 years, Yes, you can put A/C on a Hemi, I saw a 72 Road Runner with a 426 Hemi and A/C at Charlotte last Spring, looked odd, I have sen more Hemi engines recently with A/C added.

let put it to rest my friends this car was a chysler excutive car an yes it had dealer air installed in 1967....under dash unit with york compressor an brackets.car also has power steering and power disc brakes as well as power windiow.silver on red interior tinted glass and hemi tail fin...send your e-mail's boys i'll show u the fender tag...thanks for all the intresting input...

Well, I did miss the part about you having the intake and carbs. However you are WAY off on their value. If the carbs were perfectly restored including cosmetics they MIGHT bring $3K the intake about $500.

Yes, it was possible to have an under dash A/C unit install in 1966 however it would be highly unlikely that the deal themselves could or would have done it. Most people would take it to the dealer for the A/C and they would sublet it to an aftermarket company and the customer "thought" the dealer did it. I worked for a compaqny in the mid 80s that did aftermarket A/C for ALL of the dealers in the Phoenix metro area. The biggest problem for a dealer was that they did not have the ability to build a custom compressor mount. We had a fab shop and buit them all the time. In fact in about 1984 a 1968 Silver/Black Hemi Roadrunner rolled into the shop from the midweswt and they guy had us install an under dash A/C unit in it.

Groundpounder I believe you'll be happy to read this article!

Well, as much as I like the 66-67 Chargers I have to take issue with what you have posted here.

1. The article was written in 2006 which was the absolute top of the market.

2. The car did not sell.

3. The article is about a 1966 but they picture it with a 1969? What is up
with that?

4. Who ever wrote this did little research as many of the things written are
not correct or have no factual backup.

A. "It is believed that only two Dodge Chargers with a Hemi engine,
four-speed manual gearbox, silver exterior,
and red interior are known to exist in modern times."
According to who? There are no factory records to
prove how many in any combination of equipment and color exist let
alone any information that would indicate how many remain.

B. "The Charger was designed and built to combat other marque’s muscle
cars such as the Barracuda and the Mustang. Their 2+2 design and
street performance had been gaining much popularity and Dodge
wanted in on the action."
Not even close. The Charger was produced to compete with other
midsize luxury sports cars such as the T-Bird, Grand Prix, Riviara,
Toronado, and the Eldorado.

C. " Optional was the 361 and 426 cubic-inch Hemi, available in various
configurations."
They seemed to have forgotten the most popular optional engine at
this time, the 383-4.

D. "The 426 Hemi produced 425 horsepower and would set the buyer
back $1000."
While the Hemi option was expensive it was $880. not $1000.

Groundpounder asks what it is worth, promises pictures, doesn't answer the questions that will reflect its true value and then disappears what is up with that?

for all those waiting for pics,

if anyone is serious about it, let me know if you need help.

So, is this your car, groundpounder's, or someone elses?

Hard to tell from the pictures as to how solid it may or may not be. I am sure that if someone is truely interested in it they will find out. Not for me and for anyone else that would like the car it will be a labor of love. Just from the pictures and the engine missing I can tell you that to bring that car to no more than #2 condition you will be under water.

This began as a WIW thread. I asked some question that would allow a better idea of it's value but the were unanswered.

Good luck with your sale for whoever owns it.

no, not my car, and no, I do not know the seller.
If someone is serious I am willing to help out. eg: photos, unbiased view (whether you like my take on it or not,,,lol) etc
the car is close to me, although I do not know it.
