hi!

i'm just building my 68 satellite.
the ingedients so far:
a non matching #'s 1968 satellite
572 super street hemi (indy)
jericho 4 spd trans
tti headers
tti 3" exhaust
rms suspension front and rear
dana rear end by moser engineering

i bought the car as a garage-queen with a 440. it was sitting in a barn for some years. the suspension was worn out, the 440 was leaking, the 727 didn' work at all and at first i just wanted to buy it and fix it up a little bit.
during the time, i decided to renew everything and do a complete resto. right now, the car is sodablasted sitting in the garage, waiting for the paintjob.

the most hp for the money was the 572 super street hemi from indyheads. the dyno showed 801hp. :) the engine already arrived here in germany.

the trans will be a jericho (also sitting here at the shop) and the rear end was just ordered from moser (dana). i hope, it will arrive soon.
to handle all that, the suspension had to be renewed and here i decided for the rms system. anybody 'round here tried it yet?

but now i'm a t a point where i need your suggestions and advices: the color.
should i stick with kinda factory look, keep the chrome and paint it q1 bright blue (electric blue poly) or should i go a whole different way, since the car is not going to be original at all....

if i go different, i would do the restomod-thing and paint the chrome matte-black and paint the car itself either in the lamborghini reventon color (like a fighter jet) oder siver-matte or something like that....
is there a b-body in this style 'round out there? I can't really imagine, what it woul look like....

thanx for pics, suggestions and tipps on that issue!

Do what makes ya happy. Lookin' forward to more pics of your progress.

Thats a nice MOPAR there! Good luck what ever ya do to her!!

Nice car to beguin with, `68's are my favorite. I'm all for seeing something different done with this Satellite. If you're going with a matte finish on the paint then the flat black painted chrome bits would look great but if you go with a body that is glossy, I'd keep the chrome.

yep,

that's what I think, also.
i'm really thinking about matte black chrome parts and wheels and the lambo color.

here's a porsche in that color:

it might look a bit like the new fst&furious charger here:

but i would paint the bumpers and so way darker to get a better contrast...

whatcha think?

another idea: what do you think of the original q1-color (electric blue poly) but instead of the original finish - put a matte clearcoat over it? this might look pretty cool, too...

I was at the mopar nats in columbus and saw a 68 charger resto mod that was candy apple red. It looked surprisingly very good in that color. If it was my car and I was in the same boat where you are... I would pick the one color that you have always wanted and be damned what anyone else thinks.

i am liking the matte finish idea myself...

but ur not building it for us, its for yourself..so do what you want.

i like your last idea with the flat clear over q1 and if you do decals you can have those in gloss might be cool might not
