When turning the lights on my 72 charger the headlights are the only thing that will turn on. None of the sidemarkers or taillights will turn on when they are turned on only the headlights. Check ground at the radiator brace its good. Any ideas?

Bad flasher maybe??

Check grounds in trunk for the tail lights. Possible bad turn signal switch.

Been through this myself a while back. All those components you've listed are all on one fuse and go through the headlight switch. Check the fuse first to see if it's blown. If not then I would look at the headlight switch.

The ground in the trunk is good. The odd thing is that the side markers and top mounted fender turn signals worked before and just stopped on day. The turn signals still work just not the ones mounted on the top of the fender. I guess its possible its the headlight switch because if im not mistaken that controls the hide away headlights? cause those arnt working either.

I'm pretty sure our dash wiring is almost identical besides the fact that I don't have any hideaway headlight function. I found that power comes into that headlight switch from two places... the big (Black) wire which is the main power to the switch, and a (Pink) wire that powers your glove box and cigarette lighter on its way to the headlight switch. Originally, I kept blowing fuses and for a long long time could never figure it out why I couldn't keep dash lights, side markers, and tail lights. I eventually found that my that pink cigarette lighter wire had come loose and was shorting out on the back of the dash. I guess the question to ask is, do you have any dash lights or is it just side markers and tail lights?

Break out the meter and check the wiring in the switch and connects and see what you get.

Don't cut into the wiring, you will regret it and only make a mess to try and clean up later.
