Not new to restoring 60's classic, but first Mopar. Just finished a 67' Ford Fairlane 2dr hardtop. Next project is a 68' Sport Satellite. I'm still trying to decide if I'll return it to the way it was born or make a RR or GTX clone. I've decoded the numbers and found it's a 383 2 barrel, auto, airconditioned, vinyl top car. Dark Turquoise paint, black interior, with black horizonal accent stripe. Problem is motor and transmission is not there. Any advice?

Thanks!

everybody has an oppion , but since Your asking for ours , build Yourself a Road runner or gtx . I built a r/t from my 69 corronet 500 and I'm so glad I did one of the guys I meet told Me that he restored His and everybody He ran into said "gee to bad it was'nt a Super Bee" He was Pissed so he put the car up for sale and started to look for another to make a Superbee clone. Just be true to Youself on this one and build what YOU want.

Welcome to B-Body's TUCK!... Question is, What do you want it to look like? I sometimes feel im alone in this but im a firm believer that we should make our rides the way we want, not the way the world does, Cruising along in these cars one of the real great feelings for us is the fact thats we did it, we built it.. I cant put my car together so everyone else likes it, I have to do it the way I like it. If were building one to sell its another story.. My car is a Satellite that came with the RR hood, dash ect... so i decided to turn it into a clone, Ive never hid the fact and not very many people would know if i did lie to them. I did this because of a couple reasons, the main one was, thats what I wanted.

Thanks for the response folks. I'm all for building it " like I like it". That's what I did with the Fairlane. It's a GT clone with a stroked small block. I guess what I'm asking is, which way would the car be more valuable. Back to original, ( as close as I can ), or cloned to a GTX or RR. I have access to a period correct 383. I also have access to a fresh 440 still on the stand, complete minus intake and carb at a great price.

Thanks.

Tuck welcome to FBBO good luck keep the LL1 Turquoise that's the original color of my 68 RR HT, it's a great somewhat lessor seen color... There's nothing wrong with building a Sport Satellite {my 2nd car was a 68 Sport Satellite HT, Dark Green & white vinyl top & interior, 383 4bbl/4sd, my parents bought new} or a GTX/RR clone just do what makes you happy...

welcome tuck.like everyone else has said, build it like you want so you will be happy to own and drive it.
