I am trying to help my family get rid of a '67 Coronet 500. 383 4bbl. Maroon with black, alloy wheels.

I don't have any pictures yet, as the car is in Kansas City and I'm not. It was parked in about 1997 when the engine (383) seized, likely from a spun bearing. Floorpan on passenger side at least was rusted through.

It is titled in my brother's name, and he is in the process of getting a replacement from the Kansas DMV. I'm advertising it for him.

We're looking to vacate the garage, and I seem to recall there being another 383 block of unknown condition, which is welcome to go with the car. If I can have a friend or family member take pictures, I will post them here.

I am in a bad position since I can't get up there to do anything with the car right now, but we want to get rid of it. I literally have no idea what to ask for this car. $500 O.B.O.?

If it has a good front grille and surrounds on it I would give you $200 for the complete set up.

Send me a PM if interested.

Definately need pics before setting a price. There's likely more than $500 in parts.

I've responded to the PMs, and I am working on pics. Please be patient, I am quite a distance away and probably won't be up that way until Christmas. (Still, that's only a few days away.)

Okay, updates (part 1).

1. Urgency -- We have secured a place to store the car and we've moved it there, so we don't have to be quite so rushed about this process.

2. Condition -- pictures will be posted. Interior needs a lot of cleaning and work. Rust is about where I thought it would be after a few years in that garage.

3. VIN -- VIN decodes to: Dodge Coronet, Premium, 2dr Hardtop, 383 1-4bbl B "High Performance", 1967, St. Louis MO plant.

4. Title -- The owner now has the VIN and is getting a new title from the DMV. The car is currently titled, but the actual paper title was lost over the years -- DMV will issue a new one.

5. Plans for advertising / sale -- Since it's someplace we can store it for a while, we are not going to "firesale" it like I thought we might have to. We're researching prices, and expect to set a reasonable asking price, which will probably also be "OBO". It will be listed here, on Craigslist, and by word or mouth or any other means the owner decides to use. I don't have any experience selling a car, but I imagine that means that the best offer of any that come in from any source will take the car. Since I can store it for a while, we will wait until the replacement title arrives to 'open' the sale. No use negotiating with people and having there be any uncertainty on anyone's part that the car can be sold.

Why we needed to get it out of the garage it was in:

It cleans up fairly well on the outside:

After a trip down a gravel road, not as shiny -- but more pics from more angles:

I remember this giving me a lot of smiles when operating the right foot:

Admins/Mods, would it be best to move this thread to another part of the board, since it will be a little while (until the title arrives) before we open the sale?

No, it's fine where it is. Just update the post when you get the title.

Thanks!

By the way, the additional 383 block I thought was in the garage was not there.

Nice car!! Glad it's turning out OK. Good luck with your sale!

Hello seller, I own a 67 Coronet 500 w/383 four barrel, auto. The car you have is actually quite rare with the four barrel 383. Less then 2500 made. Your car is worth more then 500 bucks! Good luck with your sell. steve

Bucket seats?? Floor Shift??
Is it my eyes or does the left front torsion bar anchor appear to be busted based on the low squatting position??.
Car appears to have potential.

Still waiting on title, so not much to update here. I don't know what's going on with the torsion bar on the D-F, I was the last to drive the car and it was not collapsed then. A family friend pulled the car out of the (outdoor) parking spot and put it into the garage in the late 1990s, and I have a vague memory of him saying he hooked onto something that made the suspension drop--maybe the t-bar adjuster?

It may be a rare car, but I am fairly sure that the engine is not original, unless my brother's recollection is inaccurate.

TITLE IS NOW AVAILABLE.

Please contact Jeff at *** *** ****to make an offer.

Hmm. OK, no telephone number.

It will be on Craigslist in the Kansas City area within a week or so, unless someone calls and makes an acceptable offer before the ad goes up.

I'll try to get the craigslist link posted here as soon as it's up.

ETA: I read the rules, and I am not sure how to comply, since I don't know a "buy it now" price, it's just going to be best-offer. I'll check back here to look for PMs and forward them on to my brother, but even once the CL ad is up, I don't think there is going to be a B-I-N amount. I'll post here if that changes.

car sale

I see an rt badge on grille. What's up wirh that?. Also you can get twice what yor asking for it all day. Best luck to you.

In the mid 1990s, car had some grille damage and the R/T grille was available locally.

My brother never settled on a "what to ask", so he's just doing "best offer".

I'd ask in the 3500 to 4500 neighborhood, if it runs and drives.

Might not actually fetch that much if the rust is any worse than it looks in the pics.

Definitely worth much more than $500, the seats and tracks are worth close to that.

...and that just a badge, not the whole R/T grille.

That will make someone a real nice project there.. looks good, wish everytime i find a good decent car its to far away lol.. good luck with the sale, and its worth a lot more then 500...
