my dad has an original 73 340 roadrunner he bought last summer he is fixing it up he found sitten in the weeds with trees growed all around it it had been sitten for ten years the motor was swaped out with a 318 and the 340 was laying in the bushes any how my dad hasent decided if he wants to go with the 340 or a 440 he may sell the 340 he asked me to get on the net and see what there worth. the ole man broke down and cleaned up the motor and suprisingly after sitten for so long it is in excellent shape so we are just curious what it is possibly worth

Without know what wrong with it, (broken rod, spun bearings.most likely locked up) it hard to say what it worth. If it was pulled and thrown to the side for 10 years, something wasn't right with it.

Your not sitting on a gold mine, more like a money pit.
Be lucky if someone offered you $50. Especially since a 360 will produce just same or more HP and are easy finds.

You say he tore it down and it's excellent inside? What about the outside? Pics would help....

and shipping that engine or block outside of Alaska, ie Anchorage corridor , will be next to impossible.
What goes to Alaska , stays in alaska

Like the 66 Dart 273 4 barrel car I found in Dutch Harbor. Well the intake, aircleaner and emblems, made their way down south.

nothing was wrong internaly with the engine the guy wanted a 318 in his car is all the out side of the block is still painted red flaked in a few spots with all the grease that was on it did preserved it very well as far as gettin cars and motors out of alaska not an issue few hundred bucks to ship the block and i can send a car all the way to the east coast for mere 2300 bucks

If its that cars block he should hang on to it whether he puts it in the car or not.

Well I have a 1970 340 shortbock that I have been trying to sell for $600. It has been stored inside for years. What heads do you have on yours?
