I'm looking to get the bumpers rechromed on my 73 Satellite. Anyone have experience with doing so in the San Francisco/Bay Area?

I do know that the chrome guys in yuba city...Most of the chrome shops in calif have closed their doors due to strict epa laws...There is one in sac but they are high end only....Depending on your car it is cheaper to replace with repop if available...Yuba city is 2.5 hours away from you....I went to Tam high in mill valley!!

Place in Stockton, They wanted $400-500 for my 69 RR rear bumper...I passed since I can get a net repro for $399!
There are a couple of them out there and I think one in Pittsburgh but have not been able to get a hold of them. Google man google lol

The one in Sacramento is Sherman's. They are in West Sac area if I am not mistaken or there bouts. Been a few years since my re-chrome with them so I may be off on the location. But they are in the book. Yes they are pricey. I had them re-chrome my front and rear bumpers and straighten them out some. It cost me 1500.00 for the pair. But let me tell you...Money well spent. Some of the nicest and most beautiful chrome job I have ever seen. Really a superb job. I know in today's economy, monies are tight. But if you can handle the cost you won't be disappointed....

I have googled. Just hoping to get some feedback if anyone has any experience. I can call and get pricing, but if the quality isn't there, what's the point?

Superior Chrome in San Jose. I have used them and they are awesome! They are known around here for chroming bumpers and restoration chrome pieces. Very knowledgeable, easy to deal with, and fair prices. See their reviews on Yelp.

For me they don,t make repop bumpers...Superior chrome flat out told me they do high end stuff only...Prices starting at 1500 bucks...eagleone 1983 posted a company in utah...THEY PAY FOR SHIPPING for all and discount for vets...Their prices are very fair...Since it,s not in cali I guess they charge alot less..www.ogdenchrome.com. I know it ain't in your area but I had mine done at DC bumper in Dallas and they did a good job. Not only did they chrome but they did a little straightening , fixed a crack and did some fill work all for Right around $305. They are not just a high end restore shop,
I saw pallets of 18 wheeler bumpers in the warehouse and saw a list of many of the local dealerships and body shops on a scheduling sheet that someone had left out on a desk. They also have shops in ok city and san antonio but the other shops all just ship to dallas, so I dont see why you could not. Mine took 10 working days.
