hey guys, i had a couple of questions for anyone with worked 3rd gen 5.7 hemi's. what are your opinions on the 6.7 stroker kit. or 6.1? im looking to get mine to around 550 or 600hp.what would be the best route to go?

ive built them up to around the 1200 rear wheel hp range. what questions are you looking for to be answered?

steve

well im just looking for your opinion on how to do it. i know the 6.7 stroker kit is 3200 for parts. then how much for machining? would you go that route or just supercharger or turbo charge it?

hemi

i know they also make a 426 stroker short block that sells for 4400. that makes around 5 or 550 hp. would that be cheaper then stroking one yourself?

stroker kits wether there for the 5.7 based 390-396 inch motors or the 420-431 inch motors based on the 6.1 block can be had cheaper than 3200...

depending on what level of power your after is what direction i would steer you in. what is the intended purpose ect.

ive played with some 640 crank hp 6.1 motors in the drag packs but i would say thats not very streetable...

mild to wild..there are combos out there.

ill pm you my price on stroker kits btw

stroker kit

yeah im just looking to get in 550 or 600 hp range. nothing to crazy. and i would like to have it be all motor.

If I had 7-10 Grand to spare, I'd supercharge. Edelbrock or Pro Charger.

supercharge

yeah i know the superchargers are nice. but for alot less i can turbo it and get over 600. has anyone seen the hemi that they turbocharged in hot rod mag? It was a junkyard motor and a home made turbo system and they still pulled 612 hp at 5500 rpm.
