I never thought I'd need a second rotisserie! But, I do! It's going to be for my Satellite. It will be semi-adjustable for B Body vehicles, slightly smaller and lighter than my current rotisserie. I will need it shorter to allow the car to spin in the limited space in the corner of my shop, and, keep it on it's side if and as needed. All this is driven by a new job that I took in; another Chevy. This one a 1949 Styleline that is pretty bad rust wise, and previous fix up jobs.

The dolly the Satellite currently sits on is needed for the body of the Chevy as it can't mount on my big rotisserie (body not strong enough). So, one need drives action on other areas creating new needs there! Trust me, these are GOOD problems to have! This rotisserie I am not skimping around on, this sucker is going to be painted Red, and won't see Media Blasting duties. I will post pics tomorrow of it in its current condition. I've got the ends built, on casters, and the center beam cut. Need to rig up rotating assemblies and mounting brackets.

Yeah, let's some pics of that rusty pile!

It's coming together, not done yet, haven't figured out the rotating assembly yet, but I will. Also, moving my 300 around, had a little fun chirping the tires with my foot on the brake as I pulled it in; that 727 really hooks up immediately!

like so many other cars, looks decent on the outside but rusty underneath. Are you going to blast just the underside or the whole car donny?

God you are going to curse yourself the first time you trip over the end of that thing!! the rotisserie that is

I'm going to blast the entire car; frame and body. Put new floors and whatever else is discovered after I blast it. The rotisserie will knock me on my arse if I don't watch where I walk, but, it will likely just have a few inches sticking out the ends.

Interesting on the trailer hub use, sounds like it could be a win-win scenario. Bearings and the weight of the car is contained on the bearings, I think I'm going to 'explore' this avenue as this rotisserie MUST fit sideways in my garage with the car mounted -- it needs to be out of the way, and yet right in the way for working on it and not pushing it around making room for a paying job/car. Thanks for sharing this. For the $1000.00 they are asking, not too bad, shipping might be a bit pricey, but, that's how it goes. I used 11 gauge and heavier 2x2 sq tubing on mine, the one at redline is not 11 gauge, but, perhaps it need not be? If you have a good welder, shop space, chop saw and tools to build one, go for it, if not, the one linked/listed is a good piece of equipment.

I made my rotisserie with trailer hubs, 4 for moving around (one end has turning hubs for steering) with 13" wheels and one each end for rotation. Made it heavy duty-model, huge tubing, lifting is made with boat winchs. Just use it to blast and paint '65 Mustang floors and underside.

I'm now mobile mode, got pictures on my home computer. Will post some if wanted...

2nd rotisserie

Im looking at picking up either a 3000 or 4000 system from Acessible system in Tn and a body cart also just dont have the time to build right now a friend mine has the 4000 system and it is a brut ,didnt like the auto twirler or the whirly jig system.

Here is my rotisserie build:

My bodygrill buildphotos

Made it super heavy, each winch can lift around 1700lbs/ 800Kg, you never know if one day need to turn my Super Duty up side down:book1:

If it raises any questions, fill free to ask...

Just have one thing to upgrade: steering arm, I planed to have a beam that can be attach to trailer hitch and pull around and it will steer at the same time but made it out with just little too small tubing and wrong anchor place.

That I will have to fix. And maeby make another lift bracket for smaller upright beam that controls center of gravity of the car. I really cant explane it in english but will post pictures when done. Idea is that I wont need my two post lift so much when setting car in "grill" as we call this device.

The total parts cost was around 350€, tubing is mostly second hand from a friend, same as wheels & tires. Made it in 5 days, used mig/tig/plasma/small grinder and hand drill.

One idea I had just little too late, locking plate can be made from motorcycle rear chain sprocket. 8)

Hey SuperB70, I just spend about 45 minutes looking at each photo in your album in detail. I love doing this, pick and chose what will work for me, and, perhaps you look at what I've built and steal ideas from it! I think I'm going to go the trailer hub route like you did, I also like the flywheel type disc that you drilled holes in to allow the pin to lock the car in whatever position you chose or need. I have a dirt bike (WR450f) that I have the old sprocket and chain for, which I will likely incorporate into the new design on my rotisserie! Many thanks for these fine ideas!

Donny, your welcome.

I have come clean that I do "tech spying" also.

This is not all my brain child, just like you, I check others builds and mix them with my own needs/idea.

I like to big wheels concept cos now I can roll it out side and into trailer with out any pain...

Cant wait to put my Bee on it... I'm just so freeking busy building other one...

Now I'm fab'ing an intake manifold for twinscrew supercharger for a 426(572) Hemi.

SuperB70, now that intake manifold sounds like a time-consuming and all engrossing task indeed! I went and scouted out some trailer hubs today at a Trailer store, 3500 lb hub, spindle, bearings for about 60 bucks each. I'm going to go this way; it's going to be way smaller, and, even easier to rotate even if you are not centered weight wise!
