I have a set of almost new XHD leaf springs (P4510268 and 269) for an A body sitting in the garage. These have a 20" front segment.
I was wondering if I could use them on my 67 Belvedere II 318 if I were to put the 2" longer front hangers from MOPAR on? I did some searching around online, but couldn't find anything about recommended weights for the XHD A body springs. I also don't know if they will align the axle properly. I do know that the SS springs need that 2" front hanger on a B body.
Anyone have any thoughts or experience they could share?
What I might do is attach the XHD springs to the rear shackles, see where the center bolt sits in relation to the axle, and measure the distance gap to the stock front hanger location....
Thank you!

I believe the Super Stock are A body length. (I think this is the same for early B bodies as well) So to use them, or "regular" A body springs on a later B body you would need to use the longer front hangers. This should put the axle in about the original position.

But an A is a lighter car and I don't think the springs will hold up all that well in a B.

Now having said that, I'm gonna need a set of springs for my 68 Dart Sedan:p

Use the Super Stock front leaf spring hangers - it moves the leafs back 2" giving the B-body 22" front segment length - giving the axle correct location in the wheel opening.

Yup, Super stock front hangers is all you need.

Thanks. I am ordering the longer hangers. Will see how the car sits with the XHD springs. I already have new shackles and also ordered new u-bolts and the front hanger eye bolts.

With the Edelbrock shocks and the ADDCO sway bars already installed, the car should handle better than ever.

I did some measuring on my 69 Fury doner car and I believe the springs on it will fit my 68 Coronet no problem and have an extra leaf.... FYI

I did this with an E body and had no problems. A body springs, Super stock hangers. I dont really remember what it had for shackle bushings. Usually when I change springs I order a set of Mopar Perf rear shackles and bushings. I believe I may of had to order 2 sets of bushings and spilt the pack.

Finished things up this weekend. Stock front hangers (repainted), XHD B-Body springs, and new shackles. With the ADDCOs and Edelbrocks, it is riding great. Just need to get an alignment this week.

I know that all A-body springs will bolt right into a '62 - '63 B-body car, and E-body leaf springs will also bolt right in to a '62 - 63 B-body car WITHOUT ANY MODIFICATION AT ALL, just bolt them in, it's that simply! But you need the extended special hanger from Mancini Racing to make them fit the '67 up B-bodys. But they will work. In Mopar Action magazine, they did a '62 B-body with XHD 340 A-body leaf springs, and they seemed to be heavy enough for a B-body, and it sit nice. Just wanted to pass this along.:th_krazy:
