66 Hemi belvedere hardtop

Gonna check out a 66 hemi belvedere hardtop on fri...Most of you may remember i put up a post for this car a few months ago...The guy is asking 40,000 but is really negotiable on the price..Well I finally got in touch with the guy so I,m gonna go see it on fri...This guy is a long time racer and has a few cars for sale...My buddy has a fist full of dough and wants the belvedere,,,I,ll keep you all posted on other goodies he may have for sale...i know he has 3 hemi cars and tons of parts...Some of you may remember him at mopar magic every year sacramento in sept...He has a white dodge 440 with a 426 hemi in it....Wish me luck and i,ll take alot of pics!!!!

Heres the latest update on the 66 hemi...Saw the car today...It is a true h code car...Galen Govier certified...Car was put togther in 92...Was found as a shell that was going to the scrape yard...Date code correct 426 street hemi wuth dual quads...This is the good...Here,s the bad...Headliner is wrong, doorpanels need replacement..The paint is ok.But some cracking on the hood and bubbles on the rear quarters...Trim is o,k.Typical scratches for a 40 plus year old car..He had a for sale sign in the window asking 40 grand...He said lets start at 35 grand and go from there...We just couldn,t see 35 grand for a car that needs body work and interior..The motor has 6000 miles since rebuilt to factory specs....What do you guys think????

Any pictures? $35K for a car that will have to be gone thru to be mint. Tough call. If someone really wanted it for personal reasons and not resale value it might be worth it. As the saying goes, something is worth what someone is willing to pay for it! But I would love to see pictures PLEASE!!

In reference to the Belvedere II, I had one, have a picture of it with my account. Originally silver with black interior, auto, bench, with a 3.91 / 8.75. Still had the correct k-frame, and differential, but no engine or trans, and 51,000 miles. The story I was given is that the engine was stolen.... It was a nice straight and solid car. I sold it for $4500 in the early 90's before the blocks were reproduced. Now I have a couple mega block Hemi's and no real hemi car.

If the engine is all there, correct and running well that's $15K right there. He might be in the ball park if the body isn't full of rust and bondo.

I remember lining up next to one of those at Sac. I treed him (.026 to his .037) but my car slowed down because it was a bit warm so he ran me down and took the win light by .04 secs. That thing ran a low 9!
