Does anybody know, what was the original color of the bottom of 69 GTX - was it matt, gloss, or silk black? And what about those stripes on the hood?

Body color.........possibly covered with factory undercoating if ordered/optioned that way. The stripes on the hood were a type of Ditzler paint called Organosol.

I do believe, but can be wrong, gray primer with varying amounts of body color over spray.

sorry for confusion, I meant lower part of the body, below the trim. Some restored cars have it gloss, some matt...

69 and only GTX had the lower body in a semi-flat black, then either a white or red strip on the top of the blacked out area, but not out of the blacked out area. I've seen hoods in gloss black for the stripes, they just don't look that good in gloss black.

thanks. I`m just restoring 69 gtx, it has original paint, but it`s faded (from CA), and I was not sure.
