Does anyone have a recommendation on a universal aluminum or stainless mechanical fan shroud for a 70 coronet or similiar b body. I've seen a few on line, but not sure of the quality. Any custom ideas and pics would be cool.

Measure up your core and fan diameter and head for your local bone yard. They have plenty laying around for little $. Minor adaption work will be involved, but no big deal.

Ma knows...

any particular reason you want a custom shroud, Andrew?

a stock plastic one has worked great for me! (26" rad). found it on flea-bay.

(Stock MoPar rad; was re-built 2 years ago, w/ a 3-core)

stock shroud, 7-blade (hemi :icon_rolleyes:) mechanical fan, new 16lb cap and a little bit of water-wetter in the rad; good as gold. :toothy12:

stopped her from overheatin', even in traffic.

at a crawl, she doesn't get higher than 195* :hello2:

I have my old shroud that would probably work but I went crazy polishing all the aluminum, pulleys, alternator etc.. and it might not look right with all that glitter in there.

Anyone know a cheaper alternative? I've seen them go for $125, a cheap boneyard shroud that is proven to fit would be great!

There's a 7 blade fan and Griffin Aluminum radiator in there now because the clutch fan didn't fit anymore.
