It is time for me to choose a color for my 64 Polara. I found a pic of a Polara 500 in a magazine from 2004 and I would like to paint mine the same color. I have attached the pic hoping that someone may be able to help me figure out exactly what color it is. I can't find any paint chips that match and I also can't find a paint supply shop up here that is capable of looking up old codes. I am also open to color suggestions from anyone who disagrees with the color I am shooting for. Thanks in advance for your help.

Is that b5 blue?

I don't think it's B5 Blue. I was thinking it may be a variation of Medium Turquoise but that might be a longshot.

That is more blue than turquoise....if its a custom color you may never find out what it actually is.

If i were to repaint my 64, I'd definately go with a Turquoise......something like this LL1 Turquoise would look pretty good on a 64.....lets face it....anything's better than F#*kin red!

I've always liked the EE1 Dark Blue Poly!It seems to make the 64s look smaller.A friend of mine had one his dad had bought him for graduation!Still remember seeing it for the first time.He put chrome wheels and a big tire an 8:25x15" B.F.G (lol)hey it was 1964!

Perhaps this will help ...

I took a couple of color samples from the hood area of the car ...

Sample 1 - Right above the E in Dodge

Red 6
Green 120
Blue 181

Hue 201
Saturation 97
Brightness 71

Hex #0678B5

Sample 2 - the darker band just above sample 1 -

Red 0
Green 92
Blue 143

Hue 201
Saturation 100
Brightness 56

Hex #005C8F

Perhaps someone can make you a sample color based upong these values.

Also ... it appears to me as though there is a clearcoat on the vehicle which will change the color slightly.

How about this??
