We think the drivers side rear quarter panel on a 69 roadrunner we have was placed on too far forward. This is leading to the body panels not lining up and the driver door not shutting correctly. Can this be corrected after the car has been finished? --
This is on a finshed car we just purchased.

The door hinges are adjustable--loosen the bottom hinge first so you can catch the weight of the door when you loosen the top hinge--be sure to secure some form of protection around the finished door gaps before loosening the hinges to avoid scratches and nicks when the hinge loosens. Be patient with your adjustments and by all means, go slowly when closing the door at the time you're checking the gaps--depending on the adjustment, the front edge of the door can catch the trailing edge of your fender and chip the paint. I've encountered this problem to the extreme point of having to remove the door and hinges and enlarge the adjustment holes in the hinge so I could correct the alignment. Good luck and be patient!!!

Can post a photo. The only way it could have been move forward if they replaced the door jam with he striker also.

One way to see is to measure the passenger door opening and compare.
Should be able to adjust it out at the hinges. There some wiggly room to adjust up, down, in, out and sideways.

How do you know it is too far forward? If it was there would be issues all the way down the panel, like at the wheelhouse alignment and bad fitment in the back, to the roof....the list goes on and on. If it is the quarter too far forward and you want to compensate using the door, then your're gonna have all kinds off alignment issues forward of the door

Hopefully it is just a door alignment issue like ilm65 mentioned. Otherwise you're looking at one hell of a task ahead of you.

Here is a good thread explaining how to align the doors posted here on FBBO..

Hopefully it helps and best of luck to you..
