I am still interested in trading this car for something different. I was running an ad a few weeks ago, in a frustrated state, due to some issues the car was having. These issues were due to the timing being wrong (oops), and a bad lower control arm. That has all been sorted out, and the car runs beautifully.

This is a 1968 Satellite. It has a 78 440, a 727 trans, and the original 3.23 Sure Grip rear. 750 vacuum secondary Holley, Edelbrock Performer 440, double roller adjustable timing set, 8 quart Mancini pan, all new pulleys and brackets, electronic ignition, 1970 6 pack exhaust manifolds, a full 2.5 inch exhaust with 40 series flowmaster and an H pipe, new accessories, etc, etc.

The entire front end has been rebuilt. New steering box, inner and outer tie rods, adjusters, centerlink, idler arm, all new bushings, and torsion bars (.960)

The car has power steering, and power drum brakes with all new shoes, new booster, new master cylinder, and new lines.

It needs interior work, and some very minor bodywork.

This car is my daily driver. It is also my only car. Therefore, I would prefer to trade it for something else that I like. Hit me with what you got...though I should say I am not interested in any way in anything newer than the 70s at all. I would be most interested in a 67-68 Mustang, a 70-73 Camaro, or a 77-78 Firebird / Trans Am. I also like Torino fastbacks, Vista Cruiser wagons, and all sorts of other stuff. Let's see what is out there!

The car is in Port Charlotte, Florida, and can be viewed / test driven at any time.

Again, though, this is my only car, and is a reliable daily driver. I have to go from this to something that is also reliable.

Tommy

Just as a quick update, I've already gotten several very nice cash offers, but I really have to hold out until I find the right trade. This is my only car, so I need to make sure I don't end up without wheels for too long a period of time.

Am I confused. Is this the car that you were trying to sell recently and had a hard time keeping it on the road because of frame issues or something. Thanks. I GUESS I ANSWERED MY OWN QUESTION. I AM CONFUSED ON THIS. YOU WANT TO SELL IT IN ONE THREAD AND ARE KICKING YOURSELF FOR TRYING TO SELL IT IN ANOTHER THREAD.

Yes, Dave, this is the same car. No confusion. I don't really think it was necessary to post that on this thread, though. And for the record, the car does not have, nor has it ever had, any frame problems. It was a bad lower control arm, and that has been replaced, along with everything else in the steering and suspension.

As for posting this thread, I don't know how to delete old ones. I don't think we actually can. I do like the car, alot, but there are other cars I like quite a bit more, and I am merely testing the waters.

I deleted the post. It was not meant as a slap in your face. I too am learning how this thread stuff works. Just dont get offended when people low ball you because it may be all people can or want to spend on something. I apologize if I offended you in anyway.

Good point Dave.

Really this whole affair has been very frustrating for me. With every passing week the car becomes more and more enjoyable...I tweak this, fix that, adjust something else. But it has been a frustrating couple of months and I've been ragged around the edges. Sometimes it shows!

Hang in there. Your selling at I would say a not so good economy time. I know how that frustrating part works. I have got so much money in my car I sometimes could kick myself for getting into something that costs so much with two kids and a wife that stays home. I am envious of ya. I havent driven my car in 10 years. Good luck.

I think you should keep the car man. Whatever you end up selling it / trading it for...you wont ever get the sweat equity back out of it. That definetly goes for a trade. Its rare that someones gonna trade you a car thier *happy with*. I wheel and deal a lot and multiple listings of a car is almost the death nail for getting what you want. It *signals*...and I use signal rather then MEANS...

A) your price is too high
or
B) Somethnigs wrong with the car and other have seen it and passed it by for whatever reason

Personally, I'd change venues and throw it on the ebay with a buy it now price and best offer option. You'll get offers...some will be retarded...some will be fair...but you'll get a good idea what the MARKET wants to pay. If thats not what you want to accept...keep the car and hold on for better times.

I'd also suggest a little salesmenship on your part...lets get some interior pics, under car pics. Videos always help my sales. A video or two of the car running, going into gear, driving, etc.

Eitherway, good luck selling/trading the car man. Remember...your competing with atleast 722 1963-72 cars on ebay for under 5k and lets not even mention craigslist. Its gotta stand out and be a deal.

i day keep it youll kick yourself if you sell it. and parts on theses oldies are cheap and quick to fix.

take it to Muscle Car City tomorrow morning and put a for sale sign in the window.
Big show there tomorrow.

mustang?.....and worse yet.........CAMAROOOOOOOOOOO?...you gotta be kidding me. you want a CAMAROOOOOOOOOOOO...( the sheer mention of that word makes me wanna VOMIT ).. instead of that road runner....BLASPHEMY. i cant beleive what i just read!

Please put the car away in a nice dry garage and cover it up. Go buy yourself a simple little car to drive everyday and thank me 15 years from now!!!!

The car is sold. This weekend I am going to go buy a 78 Trans Am and a 79 Z28 as a package deal for less than what I got for the 68. And I will be a whole hell of a lot happier, too.
