life is good, got another Mopar toy. changed oil, next thing i know i see it leaking water at corner of intake (yea, i know small block(, the kid i got it from didn;t do good job with sealing it at the corner, so its got water in oil. question: would it be good idea to add some "sea form" or etc to oil, warm it good, and then change oil?? that would help get all the antifreeze out right??? or is that $$$ wasted??? your opinion will be followed up with large check or confederate money, whichever the greater!!!

I would drain the oil from it now, repair the problem and then add fresh oil. I don't think I would want to run it more knowing it was still leaking.

Like Red said, fix the leak then change the oil and filter. You don't want antifreeze in your oil.

I would not run it with A/F in the oil.Dump the oil & filter, repair the problem and put in fresh oil,run it to make sure problem is gone and then change the oil again.:blob1:

thanks for the input, leak is fixed, might be right about changing oil twice. at $5.50 a qt, it ain't cheap deal , course, it would not have to be completely full. lot of people tun Rotella in their cars around here, not just diesels, but its got pretty high too. its sure high quality oil,, i;m sure glad the oil companies, part stores, and who ever else,, is doing well with the price of lubes!! i wonder how high it can go !?? i think everyone should agree to stay home one day, (the same day), and see what happens to the gas situation!!

Put cheap oil in it just to run through everything and make sure it runs for a while at temp and then drain it while its hot....

Shoot, wish I would have read this sooner!
I like to wash out the engine from the top down with Kersone!
With the intake removed, you can pour Kerosene across the cam and let it was everything down then drain. The I put the oilpan plug back in and fill it up again,,, this time using a oil pump prime shaft to spin the pump without a filter for just a bit. Have a catch can ready!!!! Then a cheapy filter goes on, run the pump some more..... Drain it replace filter, fill the oil with intake off right over the camshaft, put the intake back on and drive!

That's actually not a bad idea but I wonder if you can use diesel instead as it may be cheaper.

kerosene

It should work, kerosene is basically diesel #1, just that diesel #2 is a bit thicker. I have run a mix of kerosene and diesel #2 in my van when it got below zero and it started and ran fine and have used it for cleaning parts.

only prob with eng flushing(keroseen and others)is if the motor has some miles on it and was not maintained well before.you could remove buildup that is holding bearings in place and spin them soon after.with all the detergents in todays oil you are much safer with doing regular oil changes.or a couple in a row with the op's problem.only time i have had to do a flush is if the water and oil have hydrogenated to almost a mayonas consistency(gets stuck all over inside the eng)even then i just flush with atf.
