I just bought extra instruments (oil pressure gauge and water temperature, both electrical) to my 72 Dodge Charger, 318 cui - I want to hear if anyone could tell where I can mount the sensor to my oil pressure gauge and sensor for my water temperature gauge. I want to keep my original instruments in operation so I need help where I can mount the sensors second place.
Looking forward to solving - please if you have a pic or drawing

Oil pressure sender usually goes in a threaded hole at the rear of the block, top side. I install mine opposite of the electric sender for the stock gauge/idiot light. I am assuming that the Aux. gauge you are installing is a mechanical guage? This can be kind of a bear to get to with the engine in the car. Water temperature sending unit can go in one of the threaded holes at the front of the intake manifold or in the water pump housing.

My extra oil press gauge are electric.

don't seem to find any of the hole you mention - anyone help with pic or draw/blueprint

oil presure will need to be a tee where the stock one sits now.
water temp can be any hole on intake or water pump,so it depends on what intake you are running.

Ok - i get a tee for the Oil press, its a original intake for a 2 bbl

Kenneth, Here is a pic to show you the stock sending unit. You see the silver looking kind of cone shaped sending unit left of the distributor? The intake is off the 318 but that is where you can put it, to use both gauges you'll like said have to have a T and hook the sending unit to it and the gauge you want extra, this will show you where, im sure you have a plan on how.. This is where i have mine hooked up, maybe theres a better place..

so if i am reading this right, your car is running elec and you bought elec gauges. find the 2 senders and hook in easy. you are going to get the same reading because its the same sender for each.

Found it :) T mounted and both work with their own sensor (ext. oil press and idiot light).

About water - I been looking and looking - I can't find anywhere to mount the sensor ?!?
72 Charger with 318 cui all standard from factory -

could do some plumbing and tee off of the factory temp sender - it's up front to the left side.

'71 318, this is upside down from the way you'd be looking at it but it's that little nub to the right of the one heater hose connection.
