hi guys,
I have got an original steel BB bellhousing;
castingnumber: 2180512

I can't find any info on it; does anyone have some info on this bellhousing,

thanks,
Marcel

Post up a pic or 2 of the casting #s. I show a 2780512 which is an 11" for `66/`67 Hemi.

I found out that the castingnumber is indeed 2780512; which says "hemi"bellhousing!
Enjoy the pics. It needs some sodablasting and cleaning, but it is in good shape.

Yeah! Too bad you don't have the rest of the car that it came in...
I love a good part and that IS a good part! Congrats!

that's true! Maybe i will see if anyone with a 66/67 hemicar needs it; i can always look for another bellhousing for my car. ( Which is nowhere near a matching numbers or original car )
Would it be worth something for someone who is looking for one?

Not sure of the worth but you need to clean it up and see what the bolt holes look like. Looks like it's been neglected for a long time and the threads for the trans mount may be junk and need to be heli-coiled.

They are fairly good; i cleaned the outside of the bellhousing with some scotch-brite and it doesn't look pitted. Threads look fine!

I've got a few bellhousings laying around if you decide you want to use a different one and try to sell that one off.

It is worth several hundred dollars, not easy to find. The direct starter to use with that bell is even harder to find!

I was told i could use an 11 inch flywheel with it; i also heard i need a direct starter;
can't i use a standard starter on this bellhousing?

sand blast it first. these are pron to cracks on the lower edges and blasting will uncover the problem. This will be fair for an eventual buyer to know how good it is. ZTo bad the market is mostly in North America, and shipping will will have to be factoring in one way or another.

If we could see the TOP of the bell housing it could tell more
about it,if it is just round on the top '65 or '66
.I think

Sonnyblack; some more pictures; i hope they are clear enough.
I checked it thoroughly; it looks like it has no cracks. Will get it blasted soon to check for sure.
