I am in the process of having my 67 Belvedere painted. The car will be a solid color this time. I am having it painted galactic blue pearl.
I am having the trim (grille, bumpers, taillight bezels, headlight bezels and the piece that goes between the taillights) done in what will look like brushed aluminum. The hood will have a 440 6pack hood scoop molded in.
The shop said I should have my car back by this Spring.

The car is still in the shop. Hopefully sometime next month. I have been collecting parts for the car. I have new valve covers, headers for it. I also bought a pair of new torsion bars. So, it seems even after the paint, there will be quite a bit more work to do. I think it will be a fun car when all is said and done.

It should come out looking good, considering the time it has been in the shop

Well, went by shop today to check on car. It seems the left rear quarter is not in too good of shape,so far. It has some bad places (holes, rust, etc). I did find out some good news, though.
I don't have 15x7 in rims like I thought I had. They are 15x8. Now I don't have to buy new rims. Also found out that they have a 4.5in backspace. I should be able to use the 275/60R15 tires if I decide to go that route. It may happen at a later date.

I (we) decided to change the color of the car. We (my wife and I) are going with Turbine Bronze. My wife saw the color, on a 67 Belvedere GTX, and liked the color. So, I went to the Body Shop and talked to Tim about it. He agreed. Said it would be different. I thought so,too. Don't see many Turbine Bronze cars running around. It was a factory option back in 67. I think mostly on the GTX. I think it will look good, especially with a black interior. The car is coming along nicely.

Cars been in the body shop almost a year?Yikes,i'd tell him to get on the stick and Gitter Done

I finally got an e-mail from the shop, it seems that they are finally getting to start on my car (again). It seems that they had to finish the firebird (done in feb) then they had to finish a 85-86 monte carlo , should be this month, then Tim is going to get started on mine. He wants to go back over it to make sure all the work done is still good. I don't blame him. He's had 3-4 people working on it. Hopefully, I'll have back by the end of the year. It's a real shame that when I want to see it, I have to go to the shop for a visit. LOL
Four years and counting.

Post a picture of the paint. My 09 Challenger is Hemi Orange. Pearl. I could do without the pearl. Personal preference.

I am always in wonderment how people let these shops jack them around by taking so long on their cars. I had my GTX fully restored and it took the guy 5 years and I was beside myself with the progress reports. Too slow for my taste. But to each his own I guess. I just hope your car turns out just as you want it - and soon!

Wow I don't think I could be without my car for that long. Let alone trust someone else with it for more than a couple of hours out of my site. I like doing things for myself anyways.

Mine has been the body shop now for just over a month. They have the front end and the doors all prepped for paint, but, can't go any further until the replacement frame rails arrive from Classic Industries (sent via truck). It will be 7-10 days until I expect them to be delivered.
These parts were found to be like Swiss Cheese and had to be replaced. CI was the only place that had them in stock. I'm told by the Body shop owner that I will still have the car before summer. I believe him. I hope that you get your car back long before the end of the year.
