picked up a 318 at a wrecking yard. it didnt have many miles on a previous rebuild, so i just put new rod and main bearings on it and installed new rings. put the engine together and installed it in the car. spun the oil pump to check the pressure. pressure is good and plenty of oil flowing across left hand rockers, but not getting any oil to r-hand head. removed rockers and still no oil tho r-hand head. Ive never had this happen before. can anyone tell me what might be the problem. before I yank the the motor back out.:angry1:

You need to be rotating the engine over for both heads to get oil.

thanks for the help. I thought that was the case. Earlier i was moving the crank to different positions and the retesting with no success. so I posted my question. thanks for the responce. I had my son turn the crank while I turned the pump. worked this time. Thanks for the help.

Hot damn!!

To explain a little more. If its like the big block the oil goes through the # 4 cam bearing and like these guys said your hole in your cam bearing have to align up with the left bank and then rotate engine till it aligns up with the right bank to get oil to the rockers.
