Does anyone have a photo showing where you put your fuel pressure gauge? I am thinking of putting one on my 1973 440 RR...I put one on our 1966 Malibu and if memory serves it was fairly easy to do...Marla :violent-smiley-101:

put it in-line as close to carb as possible...if your running a dbl pumper holley 4150 type , install right before first inlet to carb, if it's a single inlet,AFB,AVS,TQ or holley single pumper, install before fuel line enters carb, try to stay away from inexpensive liquid filled guages, as the fluid heats up from ambient engine temps, they may give you false reading or no reading at all.....

Are you wanting a gauge that you can read from the driver's seat? Imo, a gauge under hood is for people who drive their cars from under the hood :D

in the car you need to run an isolater.under hood, take a look at jegs, they make a scew in adapter with nipple or a nipple to nipple connector with a hole in them threaded for a fuel preshure guage.part #' are 555-16070 and 555-16075.makes it super easy to install fuel guage any place you want.

X2 - don't run a raw fuel line inside the car. Personally I don't think you need one inside the car unless you are racing. For a street car you adjust the regular once and leave it - maybe check it periodicly to make sure the pressure stays put.

I just bought a dual feed line for my Holley that has the pressure gauge with it, paid $40 brand new.

If you need an isolator I have one for sale. Its a Mallory Fuel Pressure Isolator – PN #29806. It was over $80 new and I'll sell it for $40. $50 with a 4 foot length of SS braided tubing to run to the gage.

A gauge under the hood is only good for telling you that you have pressure when you turn on the pump or when the engine is running with no load with a mechanical pump but it doesn't tell you what's going on when the engine is in high gear floored. When I got my 68 RR drag car going, it was laying down just before the stripe and so I moved the gauge from under the hood to where I could see it from inside the car and it showed that the PSI steadily dropped and was showing a big fat '0' at the 1000 foot mark. A gauge that's mounted where you can see if from behind the wheel and driving is the only way to go if you want to see what's really going on. Once I saw a guy with an oil pressure gauge under the hood. What I'm getting at, it's ok to have redundant gauges so you can monitor things while working under the hood but you really need to have it where you can monitor things while driving too and the isolator is a good idea (mandatory imo) for any fuel gauge that's mounted inside the interior but mechanical gauges can be mounted like this but some don't like that for safety reasons either.

Isolator?...Do I need one? Marla

Where do you plan on mounting the gauge? If inside the interior, then the answer is yes. If under the hood, no. I have seen mechanical fuel gauges mounted inside the car without the isolator but if the line ever springs a leak, you will have gas inside the car with you and that is asking for trouble.

Mopar& Missles, how'd you use 17???? I'm still at 20 mirrors, including the one in the trunk...hum....I guess I just have to re-arrange... MARLA if it stays under hood...NO you will NOT need an Isolator !!!!!!!

I only use one mirror but I run without a hood :D

Here is a pic of mine just put it on today

Ok, I see the value of having a gauge under the hood but what about what I mentioned before in an earlier post?
