I am an IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!

All I can say is OUCH!!!!!!!. Back in 1990, I was pulling my 383 '68 Coronet out of a storage shed, (was living w/ a hot GF, in an apartment), and I did some Damage, but not as bad as the time a 57 **** box brand X rolled by, the local pub, and in my excitement to eradicate the punk, I Caught a light pole guide wire....I feel Your Pain...
I:eek:ops:ronhead

Yeah, that totally sucks, and I understand about being pissed at yourself for doing that. I wouldn't worry too much if you can't get the paint code. A good paint guy should be able to color match and blend yellow into white if given enough room. Find the right shop and I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

well..the rain here prevented the dent guy...hopefully tomorrow.

yeppers I scratched mine too and no i do not think you are an idiot.
But if you insist that you are....please stay away from Texas and if you must come . Please Please Please don't go to Austin that town allready has way more than it's share. For some silly reason almost every town in Texas sends thier idiot there. when they get there thay all hang out togeather in this big building on a hill. Dangdest thing you ever saw.

sounds good...should i bring my own t-shirt?

I feel your pain!!!

dont feel bad, djais, **** def happens...

ive got a good one for ya: backing out of my garage and up the driveway (on my first day of vacation no less) with the driver's door open to watch out for the backdoor stoop...and WHAM!! hit da ******* house!!! bent the **** out of the corner of the door...usu dont have the door open so wide, but i kinda brain farted.

I was hurtin' about it for a long while...couldn't even look at her, everytime i did, it would make me sick.

through word of mouth found an AWESOME body guy who color matched the paint EXACTLY. my QQ1 is a bit darker than the regular QQ1, and i was worried it wouldn't match. he got his DuPont rep out with a spectrometer (sp?). cant tell anything happened. he even put the factory pinch welds around the end of the door back perfect!

moral of the story...do your homework and it will all turn out fine!! :hello2:

My Dad had a decked out Goldwing he took to bike shows in the late 80s, and he had his helmets custom painted to match the bike. 1st day he got them home he was holding his up to admire it ...and sure enough he dropped it. He looked at me and said, "Well...got that over with. You don't truely own something until you scratch it."

One of my favorite memories.

true story

with any luck I get mine back from the body shop tomorrow. I caught a hex head screw with the rear quarter and then just to make sure we had enough for everyone my darling bride slipped up and knocked a 2 x 12 bike loading ramp on the opposite front fender. So two weeks ago I finally took it in to be fixed and promptly put a door ding in it for good measure.
aw what the hell I already was at the body shop and I knew he was just a few bucks short of a boat payment. :eek:ops:
I am so sick of cleaning that empty garage :disgust:

in the fall my dad pulled out the 68 satellite mod top (100% concours resto) to take to a car show, it looked like it was gonna rain so he decided to put it back in the garage and caught the side of his work bench and put a nice 12" scar on the passenger fender...

the dent guy came today...he cannot do anything w/ it...looks like it's body shop time. But I also don't want to lose it for the season-so i may just enjoy it for cruise nights...fuk it. it was not concourse to begin with...it's a driver!:3gears:

all these stories help me remember all the stupid things I have done with my cars:

1) first car in high school was a black 65 chevelle. I lightly scraped a fence, and when I was working on fixing it in my driveway, it rolled away and smashed backwards into a tree. It was a steep driveway... and terrible damage :(

2) My current Dodge - this car is painted top to bottom on a rotisserie so putting it back together was a very careful process... but accidents do happen. When installing the engine I meant to stop the hoist from lowering but instead opened the valve all the way, causing the engine to slam into the firewall and new brake lines. Fixed that mistake, then when I was jacking the car up later I thought I had let the jack all the way down, but it had stopped about 8" up. I went to slide it under the rocker, but instead just smashed it into the freshly painted rocker...

-oh- also I had a brain fart and stuck the damaged brake line on a shelf where the brake fluid dripped on my hood and messed up the paint!

I could go on and on.

I know it's a pisser, but all this stuff is fixable. Mine was, yours too. Good luck getting it all straightened out.

Look at the bright side......you didn't land on a rock,,,,,,,or yer roof:eek:ops:

I had a tight garage also. Needless to say, the first week I had it, I put a nice little crease in my drivers front fender on a work bench that was in the side of the garage.

It really sucked because my truck is black and it stuck out like a pimple on a cheerleaders backside.

You wont see it when you're behind the wheel!!!
