Just for conversation sake...what do you guys think of the Plymouth Prowler?

i agree with it shoulda hadda HEMI....i beleive they are all 6 cylinders ! ...but they look so BAD-ASSSSSSSSS

I use to be kinda of down on them because of the V6 but then lately I've been thinking since they're fairly light should be a good cruiser. I've never driven one but a friend tells me at first it's kind of wierd because the fenders go up and down as you're driving.

Just looked it up, at 2800lbs the 253hp V6 pushes it 0-62mph in 5.9 sec, top speed 126mph, not too shabby.

5.2/5.9 can be bolted in with "slight" mods.

Turbos would look cool hanging out the sides.

bet those rear tires are EX-$PEN$IVE!

I honestly believe that the Prowler is going to be a super hot collector car in the near future. With the popularity of the late gen Hemi swaps, I'm sure we'll see more and more of 'em. The Hemi swap cars will be worth a bundle. Even stock, the styling is really sharp and they had an innovative chassis design. Just my opinion. I love 'em and really wish I could buy one.

I don't know about the near future but i do think they will be one of the future collector cars. There a looker for the new car styles now a days but i do believe and don't understand why the Hemi engine wouldn't have just fit perfect into this particular car from the start.

Probably because the 5.7 hemi wasn't in existance yet (released 2003)

Hows a big block car sound??? Your right, shouldn't have used the hemi, in truth i wasn't thinking when i said it though.. ya got me! But a BB none the less! gos right with the style. thanks..:)

It would have been IMO a good time to maybe come out with something new, something that match's the looks of this car, would you agree?

You don't think maybe a all new re-vamped 400 in one of these would sell, made specifically for the Prowler! Sounds good to me and i wonder how many would have one now.

I like them too, I will own one someday, they have an Aluminum frame, plastic fenders & panels, retro style, ugly a$$ front removable bumpers & they need a 5.7ltr.-6.4ltr. Hemi if I get my hands on one....

I have always liked em except didn't they all come in auto? Gotta have a stick.

"The T-Bucket of the new millennium!" I dont know why they weren't hot-rodded more. Guess it was just the low production numbers and high price.

I see them selling at auctions for $25k & up if they have more than 10k miles they seem to be inexpensive for how low production #'s Plymouth made... wasn't it 1999-2001 Plymouth or was it as far as 2003 under Chrysler name ??, I can't remember, my sometimmers is acting up again..LOL...

Saw one at a dealership in for service that had turbos retrofitted. Was suppose to be FAST! Me, four speed auto as the only transmission makes it a lesser ride. A company in Texas that made kit cars made a Growler - stretched their Shelby Cobra frame, made a Prowler-like body in fiberglass. Used a Miata windshield and removable top. It could be set up for small block Mopar, Ford, or Chevy. Hey, swap in a late Hemi and six speed, use an 8 3/4 rear, and you would have the car Mopar should have built in the first place.

This is my wife's 99. We got it in 01 and it now has 14k on the odometer. It's a blast to drive and has been pretty trouble free. There are starting to be issues about some replacement parts as only 12000 of these were made, so there aren't a lot of oem spares around.

I owned a 99 Yellow Prowler w/12K mile's. It was one of the best and fun Car's I have ever owned. I sold it to buy my house along with 7 other beautiful car's. I would not hesitate to buy another. Yes I agree, if it were a Hemi it would be by far the best production car made!!!!
