Hey all! Love the forum, haven't been able to leave for the past couple days! I have finally decided what project I am looking to take on. First allow me to introduce myself, my name is Will and currently live in Long Island. I have always had a love for cars my entire life. First car was a 1994 Firebird Trans am. (mind you I am currently 23, not a bad car for when I was 17 in 2006 for 2,000!) I then moved onto a 1998 Trans am ws6, and also had a 1976 Camaro that I picked up from a relative for a great price, and it was Loads of fun, and that is where I fell in love with classic muscle. Eventually I had to grow up, and life became more than gas, car parts, insurance, and speeding tickets lol! I had to end my slow growing hobby for a little, and sold all my cars to finish paying for school, and other expenses.

Well its been over three years since I made any preparation and thought to get back into it, but I am watching my father slowly age in front of me and would like to really turn nothing into something. My father and I, although I have a love for muscle cars are very different. I am a business analyst, shirt and tie everyday, and my father was a 28 year mechanic for MTA (for those not from Long Island that stands for Metro Transit Authority). He is probably one of the most articulate, crafted, and simply gifted person when it comes to automotive, and would really like to build a car with him, that I'll always have something, basically a piece of him with me.

Now that you guys know that I have put serious thought into this, months upon months of research of what car I want, as well as the beginning stages of preparation. I already had more than enough tools to get my buy I truly believe any undertaking that a car would give me when it comes to tools. My father has a collection of tools that covers an entire wall from about 6 feet high, and the wall extends for about 25 feet long..... large collection. I looked up some necessary tools for restoration, and deemed absolutely necessary, as well as something great to own one of my own and have already purchased a sandblaster, several proper airguns, and multiple accessories for the air guns, and already have 1 or two engine hoists, frame mounts, and such. I have the garage space, it is an indoor completely sealed and heated garage that I will be renting, and have a great relationship with the landlord where I will be storing the Car, Tools, and anything necessary for restoration.

Now I am not posting this out of laziness, and I have searched this forum several times, I have searched Ebay, I have found a few engines online that can search every city posting on craigslist looking for a car that NEEDS restoration......

I am currently Looking for a 1968-70 Dodge Charger. All I really want in the car that I buy is just the shell. I want a title as well, with the obvious chassis. I am looking for nothing more. I have hopes that the car will have a clean frame, a title, and the body I am not really looking too far into.... I understand that this is going to cost money, which is why I waited to make the decision on the car I wanted to I could save and set money aside for this project..... The only thing I am not looking to spend a substantial amount of money on is the body, simply being I am not looking for anything in good condition. I am okay and completely satisfied with body parts, floor pans, etc. I am okay with rust removal. You all seem to have such great knowledge on this car, and there is no other place on the internet that has such a knowledgeable community base as this forum here. Please if anyone here has anything that is matching what I am looking to do please, and I insist please feel free to reply to this thread, private message me, whatever you feel comfortable with..... I cannot tell you how much I cannot wait to start this project, please any help is GREATLY appreciated! http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/images/smilies/hello2.gif

Welcome. You will need this site to complete your project. I never thought that at first but am grateful to everyone here. THIS SITE IS MY THERAPY WHEN THINGS DON'T GO RIGHT ON MY CAR. Good luck.

Thank you all for your support!

dburkett I look forward to seeing your charger, as well as mine, hopefully sooner than later!
pops1967gtx- thank you for the support, and yes excellent handful of guys.... not to be a handout case but if anyone is looking for any work they can't finish as well, or maybe just need some help let me know..... i don't know if you heard pops1967 gtx, there were huge layoffs at the MTA (unfortunately a company called Viola stepped in and said they can do the job of the MTA for 1 1/4 of the price). I hope all your friends are okay over at the MTA; Over 200+ layoffs my dad being one unfortunately..... So ya seriously guys if someone just needs help with something lives in the area and wants to come down, my dad is a great great guy, and would love to help someone that has appreciation for any automotive. If you are not by Long Island and still need/want some help feel free to write me here or private message me, i'd love to help someone out on here, what goes around comes around they say...... Still searching; Wish me luck!

Welcome to site. I'm looking for a '68 charger myself as the next project.
