Thanks guys-
As I mentioned, Mopars and muscle is a bit new to me (although I've always liked them). Here's a pic of my other project. It's a '68 Alfa Romeo vintage racecar (replica of a factory Group 2 car).

Here's more of what I'm used to.....(this was another Alfa I owned...1982 GTV6 3.0)

Took a long time for that Ferrari to stretch it out on you. I used to do that years ago with a raced out 924. I sure pissed off a lot of people in "faster" cars when I'd ride their rear bumper cause I could out corner them. My car pulled over 1G both CW and CCW. What fun!

AWSOME VID!!! What kind of speeds are you running? I could watch that all day! WELCOME, great bunch of guys here, I have learned a lot.

you're absolutely right about the cornering speeds. It's all about momentum, especially for tracks like Lime Rock. It is a lot of fun and vintage racing had been a dream of mine for a long time. Unfortunately, the racecar project has dragged on for 4 years now. I needed a car "fix", and the Belvedere was just what the doctor ordered.....It's something I can have fun with with the wife and my 4 yr old twins....something I really can't do with the racecar

Speedo didn't work (only went up to 85 anyway...remember the 80's?!!!)
Anyway, probably around 110-115 toward the end of the main straight; about 75 - 85 coming out of the downhill.
Getting ready to start doing some little things to the Belvedere. I'm a mechanical meathead, but I'm about to start with refurbishing the Magnum 500 wheels. Just got the paint from Eastwood today. I can't wait for those warm Summer nights when I can have the garage door opened up and working on the car......

Welcome from GER :)

Nice Vid, my girlfriend loves it. ;)

Chris-just checked out your charger vid. Car looks and sounds great.
The old Alfa was a great runner. The Ferrari 355 Challenge has at least 100hp on the GTV6. Also, I was running in 4th most of the track. The other great thing about the car was that I would drive it to and from the track....3 hours to the track, drive hard all day and 3 hours back!

anyway....

Now back to the Belvedere. Yesterday I managed to clean up and paint one of the Magnum 500 wheels. All in all it came out good, although I think I'll d things a little bit differently for the others. As you might expect, taping off the polished parts of the wheel was time consuming. I was a bit stressed out due to the fact that a thunderstorm was heading in just as I started taping. I managed to get the wheel painted without issue (other than the fact the wind was blowing like crazy making spraying a bit difficult!)
To make matters worse, my spare tire doesn't fit the car. Not a huge deal, but I get very nervous about keeping cars on jacks/stands. Three years ago, a close friend of mine was killed while working under a car on stands.......

Anyone have a good (single) Magnum for sale??????or maybe a Belvedere steel wheel

I'll post some before and after pics in the next couple of days......
