B Body stiffening

I just re-read my post. What I meant to say was that I like the product but the customer service sucks.
In any case, I was seriously considering the electric window set up from them but they have proven to me that I cannot trust them to get it to me by the time I need it. They still have not responded to my questions about it!

Businesses wonder why they can't succeed?
Why is customer service a rarity these days?
Having great customer support/service should be the norm and not the exception. It's sad, pathetic even.

Darius, well how goes the project? Havent heard from ya in a while, still gettin' her done?

Update-5-29-09

I got my AlterKtion installed today...VERY nice piece!!! Bill Reilly did a GREAT job with this.
I had the whole thing in in about 5 hours. I have NEVER done anything like this ,never even really worked on cars until 2 years ago.
I only had to drill 4 holes, everything else bolted up as advertised.
The next trick is to see how difficult it will be to swap the disc brakes off the 07 Charger over.

Do the disc's off the charger even come close to fitting? I'm digging that front suspension, you are a lucky man!!!!

The 07 charger brakes... are you looking for the R/T or the SRT brakes ? I have done all the sizing up already - shoot me an E-mail for info if you are interested

Are you kidding, that **** fits!!! Talk about luck, damn!!!!

Are You Guys Racing These or just Street Driving?I Have a 43 Year Old HEMI Super Stocker that dont have bars out in front...

I am building this car to DRIVE...on the street...DAILY!!
I just wanted something nice that performs and handles like the new cars do. I got the idea as I was waiting for my '69 Dart to warm up one day. I was driving an 06 Charger R/T and I got to thinking that the Dart could give the R/T a run for it's money for a little bit so how would all the drive train and stuff from the R/T work in an older (much better looking) car. I always wanted a 70 GTX so here I am.
I don't know what "bars out front" you are talking about here. There is nothing that will project beyond the front of the car. The AlterKtion front suspension is made of 2" square tube and just bolts to the existing frame rails.

Spent some time on the front disc brake swap today. I took the hubs out of the spindles from the GTX and will put the discs and calipers from the Charger on them. We are going to try to turn the back edge of the hub down where it makes the seal on the spindle to get enough axle projection to get a good grab with the castle nut. The key to this working will be wether or not we can find bearings that will fit at the rear seal on the hub. If the spindle on the AlterKtion was 4 1/2" long it would work perfect with just getting some different sized bearings. Also will have to fab up some mounting brackets for the calipers which shouldnt be too tough either.
I will keep you all posted.
What did you do Alex??

Please keep us informed, I'm curious as hell, as to how this is gonna work/look. Is that the hood in the backround for the gtx?

Darius, great work, looks 1st class all the way. You can use the wilwood disc set up with the Alterkation setup. A friend here in NY used that setup on his Ebody and it works great, plus you get additional header clearance for your Big block if thats what you run. His car also aligned perfictly after the swap, for the 1st time ever.
I will verify what spindles he used and post it here for general info, but i do believe he used the ones supplied with the kit. Regards.

The hood in the background is for a Chevy pickup, can't remember what year but it is one of the really "boxy" looking trucks they made. Anyway it belongs to the owner of the shop I'm working in. He cut the hood in a "U" shape and bent it down in back so it looks like a reverse air scoop. VERY cool looking. I will try to remember to take a pic of it next time I'm over there. This guy is very talented with fabbing stuff.

Since I was trying to see if I could just take the whole hub/disc assy from the 07Charger and put it on the stock spindle from the AlterKtion I have a different circumstance than using Wilwoods, which is what Bill Reilley set the AlterKtion up for. So it will cost a little less to make this work than buying any of the Wilwood set ups, I still will have 13inch +or- discs on the car. The donor car only had 20k miles on it and by the looks of the pads and discs, they must have been mostly freeway miles!

Darius, my friend used a very similar but different k-frame set-up. It was from a company called CAP Products located in Michigan. The design is very similar to your Alterktion setup. He also used his stock ebody spindles with the Wilwoods. Sorry i did not want to mislead you. Keep up the great work.

I believe the difference is the CAP uses the Torsion bars and the Alterktion uses the coilovers.

That is just beautiful, I have been drooling over the Alterkation setup for awhile. Great to see one installed. Let us know how she handles!

Has anything else gotten done?

My business partner went on a 3+week,7000 mile motorcycle vacation so I have been holding down the fort. This week has been very busy....a GREAT THING... at work so unfortunately nothing has happened since I installed the alterk. My vacation is scheduled for 3 weeks starting 1 July.....THEN watch for progress. One 3 day camping trip to the gold claim and then nothing but CAR!!!!
When I last left the shop I had the car leveled on adjustable jack stands and the two main bars of the 4 link fit, cleaned and ready to weld into place. Next after welding will be to fit the rear axle and the remainder of the 4 link then get the discs on and make it a roller.
I will post pics as I go through all of this

Sounds cool, cant wait for pics.
