what would I do

If I got this cheap, which you probably did, I would drive it every chance I had, nice weather only, and add a nice set of Magnum 500's or Mopar Rallye wheels, with a nice set of RWL tires, and just enjoy it for what it is!!!
Take it to shows, dairy queen, drive ins, etc and just have fun with it!!! You will have the only one at local car cruises. The slant 6's were bullet proof. IMHO

If you build the six....a set of 198 rods and turbo 2.2 pistons gives you a zero deck height motor that with a .090 or more milling of the head makes for a cracker jack performer.

we did this on my daughter's 71 valiant.

Leaving pretty much stock it and driving it would be my choice.

rallye or road wheel always look nice, we did this to a 71 valiant 4 door.

The other extreme is keep the wheel covers and big block it for the classic sleeper.

i would hate to hack it though .

Leave it alone, enhance it, but just make it a cruiser....of course I'm lazy and intolerant...

leave the paint and body, add some cop wheels with some chunky rubber, and just for a little mystery, mount a nice big 'chute on the back-keep the tuner punks guessin'.

some 20s would set it off,not

You got that flag fixed yet?

now thats an idea....... :edgy:

Keep them coming =) I picked up 7 cop hub caps the other day, currently in the process of picking the best four out and polishing them up.

that would be the perfect school car for a young student. My flags fixed. how the hell did i get on this thread?

geezzzz....it's been so long I don't even remember how many votes "cutting the roof off" got padded with:rolling:

The kid that lives scross the street from me has a 70-74 Malibu 350 4dr. He got it from his Grandma. The car is perfect. Deep matallic blue, black vinyl top, black interior. He sees my 64 Sport Fury in the garage and comes over from time to time. He kinda needs to sell it for college money and asked me what I thought. I was honest with him and I will be honest with you. NOBODY wants a 4dr. It ain't worth dirt. He can't sell it and it's darn near perfect. Someone offered him 500 for it and if it was a 2dr he could get 20 times that. If you need an extra vehicle keep it ! If you don't and want something to tinker on then say GOODBYE to it and pick up a Dart or something like that. Reality can be painful. We are all busy and I would hate to see you spend any time on a car that will NEVER be worth anything. The Cop car idea is a joke. It's still a 4dr and it will take a ton of work to get it to look like one ! Spend time on something you can be PROUD of and will get thumbs up when you drive by them !!

If you really believe that (and I guess you do since you proudly proclaimed it publicly) then you need to trip over to FABO and check out what THEY think about 4 doors.

It's all relative. Not everyone can afford the cool 2 door stuff, so they get what they can get. And some family guys have them because they're family guys.

I think you need a reality check. That, however, is just MY humble opinion.

I don't remember you weighing in on my 4 door either.

Thats a rare car nowadays..... Id see how much a aftermarket a/c setup was before i sink $ into the six or v-8......then id add front and rear swaybars and gas shocks to it.......decide on what way to go ...six build up, or 360 ? Once you have a comfortable car to drive ( a/c ) then i would decide what to do with it if it was mine ..... My short list would be a/c firmer suspension, and more power !

It's too clean of a survivor to change. Keep it the way it is,that's my vote.

my buddy had a 71 that looked just like that one. I wanted it bad, but he swapped it for a nissan. a 4 door is lighter than a 2 door, and can be just as fast. I saw a tired looking 67 coronet wagon today an got visions of big meats and tinted windows...ok im sick. really if it had some guts I would enjoy driving it. My dad had one of those when i was a kid, I enjoyed riding in that one and it had a trunk that could haul an import.
