Except for the trim a VT and a non VT car were the same. Yes, you can do it.

What trim pieces are they? is the trim around the rear window different? or is it just the Pieces on the sides of the car? How do they attach and what are they called? SHEW!!! That is alot of dang questions......I just realized I dont know a darn thing.....:rolling:

I meant the pieces on the "C" pillar (between the quarter window and rear window). And depending on the car there may have also been a trim piece on the "A" pillar (between windshield and door glass, "B" pillar would be between the door and quarter glass)
I've heard that the drip rail moldings were different on a VT Vs a non VT car because the top is heald under that piece of trim. I do not know if this is fact. I can tell you that the tops were put on before the retaining clips for the windshield and rear window moldings.This way the clips would help hold the edge of the top down.

I'm looking to purchase a vinyl top for my 70 Satellite.
I've looked at several suppliers for a top, including Ebay.
The question I have is what brand/name to look for in a good quality top.
Like most of us here doing our own work, I want to get the most for my dollar, but not at the cost of lower quality.

I have heard this also but have never checked to see. I would think if it is true it would have to have a different part number in the parts books.
